Assistant Manager – Research CoE

The incumbent will be a part of SaT’s Research CoE and will work on developing insightful pieces including Sector points of view and thought leadership pieces, sector and sub-sector decks and presentations as required by EY leadership.

Your key responsibilities

  • As an Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for:
  • Responsible for delivering impactful analysis and insight in the respective sectors through thorough research of broker reports, company presentations and transcripts.
  • Creating sector and subsector trends decks to assist the strategy and transaction teams in forming a wholistic view on activity in the TMT sector.
  • Developing sector wise analysis including topical analysis, analysis on deals, rumors, top players analysis, benchmarks and trends.
  • Developing quarterly point of views and thought leaderships around the TMT sector.
  • Manage multiple stakeholders/ work in direct connect with EY leadership.
  • Any new roles/ requirements as required by the leadership to be fulfilled by the Research team.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Possess a deep understanding of the sector(s) covered.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to develop a considered point of view.
  • Experience working with databases such as Factiv, CapitalIQ, MergerMarket, VCCEdge, Thomsonone, World Bank
  • Fluency in written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office specifically Excel and PowerPoint
  • Good experience working with, analyzing, and drawing conclusions from large sets of data.
  • Experience with data modelling, data analytics and various data management tools is a plus.
  • Familiarity with data driven tools and platforms such as PowerBI, Tableau etc. is an added advantage.
  • Thoroughness and perseverance in work
  • Familiarity with Corporate Finance concepts specifically around M&A, funding, divestments etc.
  • Good interpersonal skills, relationship building.
  • Be highly flexible, adaptable and a good team-player.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and adhere to constant and challenging deadlines.
  • Foster an efficient, innovative, and team-oriented work environment.
  • Strong collaboration skills - work effectively with other members of the team to ensure our teams targets are met.
  • Ability to lead a team would be preferred.

To qualify for the role, you must have.

  • 4-5 years’ experience in research post MBA (preferably in Finance) or a Graduate with around 8 years of experience
  • Experience in Business research/ business advisory/ Business consulting/ Management consulting/ KPOs/ Industry research/ M&A advisory.

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Strong communication, facilitation, relationship-building, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong leadership skills and supervisory responsibility.
