The Global Trusts & Estates Practice is an integral part of the services we offer to clients. With over 170 years of experience serving as a corporate fiduciary for families, it is important that our Trust and Estate services are delivered by the most capable people, with technical experience as well as the ability to interact well with a variety of types of families and individuals. The Regional Team Lead is responsible for managing the Trust platform for clients within their region of the Private Bank at J.P. Morgan. The successful candidate will work closely with the Fiduciary Management team on a National basis.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage Talent: responsible for overseeing a team of Trust Officers, Trust Administrators and Trust Professionals who manage client relationships where we serve as a trustee or agent for trustee. The role requires technical expertise in the trusts and estates space, management expertise and a track record of success in growing and managing an UHNW client focused business.
- Maintain Client Relationships: The Regional Team Lead works with the Trust Officers and market partners to ensure that Trust Officers are deepening existing client relationships and providing the best client experience possible.
- Mitigate Risks: You will guide Trust Officers on questions concerning fiduciary matters as they arise and ensuring that the trust teams meet regular metrics around account reviews and maintenance. The Regional Team Lead will also be responsible for approving discretionary actions taken by the firm as a fiduciary.
- Promote Sales: Grow the fiduciary business and the Regional Trust Team Lead works closely with Trust Officers and partners in the markets to articulate J.P. Morgan’s value proposition as a leader in this space. This includes working on regular and ongoing sales management initiatives, and making sure Trust Officers are pursuing all appropriate growth opportunities.
- Review and Approve New Business: Oversee business acceptance and administration of all regional fiduciary business.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Minimum of 10 years relevant experience focused in the Trust business
- Experience creating development plans for low, mid and high performing employees
- Ability to guide, direct and monitor employees in client specific matters
- Have a vast knowledge of fiduciary products and services including Wills, Estate Planning, directed trusts, GRATS, etc.
- Strong ability to communicate with Senior Management, including C-level executives (CEO, CFO, CTO, etc.)
- Risk Management experience
- Solid Client Relationship Management experience within the Ultra High Net Worth space
