As part of Jacobs’ IT Procurement team, you’ll join a group of strategic-focused professionals whose goal is to ensure the company gets the most value out of every dollar spent. As Category Manager IT Software and IT Services you will partner with leadership and senior stakeholders to lead the development, implementation and ongoing management of software and service contracts at global and regional levels. Above and beyond Strategic Sourcing activities, you’ll master knowledge of external variables (supply markets, cost drivers, commodity trending) and the internal landscape (requirements, organizational structure, priorities). Through collaborative relationships within IT Procurement, with Stakeholders, and with Suppliers you will successfully develop contract strategies that utilize various value levers to deliver improved cost, reduced risk and more efficient programs at Jacobs.
You will utilize keen analysis expertise and creative sourcing approaches, to inform strategic decision making and deliver value driven approaches to category management. You’ll lead the supplier selection process across multiple subsets of the workstreams, with various scope and stakeholder groups. Your dedication to our culture of inclusion and diversity will allow you to foster positive relationships within your team, as well as with diverse, disadvantaged and small business suppliers. You’ll successfully lead negotiations with current and potential suppliers as part of the contract renewal or vendor selection process. You’ll apply deep software licensing knowledge to lead negotiations and support collaboration through knowledge sharing, opportunity identification, and overall relationship development..
· Minimum 10 years of IT Procurement and Contracts experience
· Significant experience in managing complex procurements for major projects, including drafting and formulating IT contracts, RFx development, negotiations, administering major purchase orders, contracts or subcontracts.
· Proven experience in establishing large, complex enterprise software & hardware agreements, experience with global software licensing models as well as infrastructure and hardware categories.
· Demonstrated experience in stakeholder management, leadership communications and awareness and consensus building to gain enterprise alignment and buy-in.
· Extensive experience with Microsoft contracting and Vendor management, Contracting with Cloud providers. Experience with the emerging AI contracting a plus.
Ideally, you’ll also have:
· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Information Technology, Supply Management or other applicable field.
· Extensive legal contract review and negotiation experience for a large company with $1B+ sales
· Experience with ERP procurement systems
· Experience with software contract rationalization supporting acquisitions and divestitutes
· Certification from the Institute for Supply Management or National Contract Management Association (or other international equivalent)
