Here’s what you will be doing:
Financial Reporting, Budgeting & Forecasting
- Lead month end JV process, preparing financial analysis and liaising with embedded Joint Venture Finance teams for posting accruals and/or journals to Jacobs Oracle ERP
- Provide financial commentary and variance analysis of actual data to budget/outlook/forecast for Finance Director
- Prepare weekly, monthly and/or quarterly joint venture analysis overview focusing on identifying key trends and potential risk and opportunities for release to senior organizational stakeholders across the JV portfolio
- Provide financial input for joint ventures to Jacobs quarterly rolling forecast business planning process, working with embedded JV teams
- Drive improvements in financial reporting processes, cash management and the budgeting/forecast process
- Deep dive into JV results and be able to draw conclusions
- Undertake ad hoc reporting and participate in special projects/tasks
Finance Business Partnering
- Lead contact for all regional joint venture activities, interfacing with Jacobs JV Board Members, and other senior operational stakeholders
- Support ongoing management of joint ventures and Jacobs understanding of underlying performance
- May attend monthly internal Joint Venture Portfolio Review, supporting Finance Director, giving financial insight and challenge to Jacobs Stakeholders
- Attend monthly Finance & Commercial Reviews with joint venture management, finance and commercial leads from partner companies to challenge and advise on finance and commercial matters
- Provide financial input regarding labor and overhead costs for all material bids and tenders. Plus, advice regarding appropriate contractual commercial terms and conditions, including FX, tax and credit implications where applicable, seeking support from Regional Accounting as required
Corporate Governance & Controls
- Ensure accuracy and consistency in application of Accounting Policy and Standards
- Ensure best practice is implemented and maintained in line with company requirements, audit requirements, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and US GAAP
- Supporting internal JV SOX controls requirements
- Liaise on joint venture audit matters for P&PS Americas region, working with Jacobs corporate GL joint venture reporting team to support audit activities
- Drive best in class cash management around DSO and WIP (collections and invoicing efficiency) for Americas Joint Ventures
Here's what you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or additional 4-years work experience in lieu of degree
- Minimum of two years’ experience in an accounting or finance related role working for a large corporation
- Experience in preparation of financial accounts
- Working knowledge of current accounting standards and principles
- Highly numerate with strong analytical skills
- Excellent IT skills with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Ideally you will also have:
- Solid working experience in an accounting role, understanding Joint Ventures is essential
- Strategic thinking combined with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills by proactively reviewing financial data to make recommendations
- Working knowledge of ERP systems (Oracle) and significant, advanced Excel skills with the proven ability to analyze large data sets.
- Advanced technical skills including proficiency in Excel. Knowledge of VBA, Power Query and Power BI will be a very strong asset
- Ability to engage stakeholders and to build appropriate partnerships
- Good time management skills to manage a complex workload, prioritize and set deadlines and cope with conflicting and changing demands
- Ability to effectively handle change and work in a fast-paced environment to meet tight deadlines
- Willingness to work in global team, with various time zones including frequent overlap with the US
