Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for aDirector Medical Affairs General & Specialty Medicine(all genders). Reporting directly to the Country Medical Director (CMD), you will be responsible for developing and implementing the Global Medical & Scientific Affairs strategy for yourTherapeutic Area (TA) in line with global, regional and local cross-functional objectives and requirements.
As theLead, you are part of the country’s medical leadership team and leading a team of Medical Advisors and MSLs in their TA. You will oversee an expanding area of cardiovascular diseases and a pipeline of highly innovative products. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including colleagues in the Regions (TA Leads, Regional Directors Medical Affairs) and other cross-functional colleagues.
a strong background in medical affairs, preferably in cardiovascular TA, Lipids and pulmonary hypertension. You should possess excellent leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively with different departments.
Your Responsibilities and Primary Activities:
Provide professional and disciplinary leadership for the General & Specialty Medicine TA.
Contribute to the overall medical strategy in the country as a key member of the country Medical Affairs Leadership Team.
Manage projects and activities within the TA, including coaching and accompanying visits.
Oversee the Medical Affairs TA study and project budget.
Serve as the information officer for the therapy area.
Oversee the development and implementation of the Country Medical Affairs Plans (CMAP) in the designated TAs.
Prepare product-specific medical scientific information and documents.
Act as the medical contact person for external scientific experts.
Initiate and implement medical research projects, including local studies and Investigator Initiated Trials, and manage related publications.
Support medical content in Health Technology Assessments and Value Dossiers.
Your Profile:
MD, Pharm D, or PhD with 5+ years of Medical Affairs experience within a multinational-pharma company, and experience across enterprise-level organizations. A MD degree is preferred.
At least 2 years of prior management experience within a Medical Affairs organization.
Proven ability to work cross-functionally with various business units and senior leaders, with the ability to influence and lead change while building strong alignment and partnerships.
Strong Compliance IQ and familiarity with local and regional regulations and standards for scientific exchange and corresponding pharmaceutical codes and regulations governing external HCP engagements.
Strong project management skills with intellectual curiosity and the ability to create a vision as well as execute and lead complex strategic and operational initiatives in matrix structures.
Strong working knowledge of business processes, including strategic planning and budgeting, is highly desirable.
Well-organized, focused on results, capable of managing multiple projects with respect to priorities and charting a course for others.
Innovative thinker, entrepreneurial spirit, ability to identify and develop novel approaches to tackle daily tasks.
Fluency in English. Strong communication and presentation skills.
