Who we are and what you'll do:

The Chief of Staff must possess dynamic leadership capabilities and proven experience leading a broad range of activities, from the highly strategic to the tactical, and will play a key role in helping the organization focus on and achieve its most important strategic goals in coming years.

General Responsibilities for this role include:

Core responsibilities include serving as strategic advisor & counsel, assuming day-to-day responsibility for projects & tasks and creating and maintaining cross-departmental relationships to enable leadership success. Additional Responsibilities:

  • Priority management: Drive prioritization and streamlining to enable the EVP to devote more time to leadership activities. Track and drive delivery of priorities across CHG.
  • Expand leader’s bandwidth & resources: Assess issues and barriers that are preventing leadership & the organization from operating at maximum efficiency. Tackle day-to-day tasks to enable the EVP to focus on larger strategic organizational initiatives.
  • Meeting preparation and follow up: Review upcoming meetings to ensure the leader has all the information required to be as productive as possible and sending out agendas or documents to meeting attendees as necessary. Manage the meeting cadence for the leadership team and extended leadership team, ensuring materials are sent in advance, time is well spent, and objectives are achieved.
  • Monitor information flow: Acting as a gatekeeper to ensure that the EVP’s involvement in a project or decision-making process at the right moment.
  • Project management: Coordinate critical or cross-functional projects and initiatives. Bring together multiple team members to help drive decisions and transformation across CHG. Researching, bench marking, analyzing data, tracking progress and making recommendations.
  • Strategic planning & execution: Establish and implement strategic plans to ensure the organization meets its objectives. Drive planning, priorities & initiatives including annual/quarterly reviews, governance, success metrics, OKRs & KPIs to drive key business outcomes. Build & update dashboards for reviewing key performance indicators.
  • Inter-departmental communication & collaboration: Facilitate communication and partnership between various departments, promoting collaboration. Stay well connected across the organization to influence outcomes. This cross-functional perspective not only helps garner support for the leadership team, but also cultivates long-term partnerships that are critical to organizational success.
  • Hiring: Researching job criteria and drafting postings, initiating the requisition process in Hiring Space, serving as Proxy for EVP on interview panel when needed.

You have:

  • Strong technical knowledge and expertise in the Hardware tech sector.
  • Must have 5+ years supporting a EVP or SVP/CVP
  • Must have a strong grasp of Cisco's markets, products, services, strategy, planning and decision-making processes.
  • Deep understanding of business operations including budget planning, LRSP
  • Ability to engage at all levels of the organization - quickly developing trust, communicating, and driving active discussions.
  • A proven track record of delivering high-value results with limited direction.
  • High-energy, strategic problem solver with excellent judgment and a real passion for learning
  • Capability to influence senior executives through strength of ideas, storytelling through data and creation of slides.
  • Ability to work and lead cross-functionally both internal and external to across a wide range of functions and teams.
  • Good working understanding of Engineering at Cisco including the Hardware business.
  • Strong communication skills to deliver impartial and unbiased results.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Qualification: 10+ years of dynamic experience in an engineering operations or engineering program management role
  • BSCS, BSEE or Equivalent experience/education. MBA preferred.
  • Experience working with CHG at Cisco strongly preferred.
  • Hardware domain expertise preferred.
  • Required to come onsite to San Jose, CA office 4 days a week.
