In this role you will work on a best in class system that acts as the strategic source for high quality Securities Reference data across the enterprise, enhancing it’s capabilities and data in line with business and regulatory requirements. By joining the Security Master Central (SMC) team you will work with the latest technologies and interact with stakeholders from across the bank enabling Citi to succeed in delivering value for our clients, while playing a key role in our data governance and data quality strategy. Our partners are teams across the full trade lifecycle ensuring you a wide-ranging variety of projects. This will ensure that the role will continue to positively challenge you, however you will meet and outpace this challenge due to an excellent support structure and multitude of training opportunities available.
Responsibilities:

  • Analyse business client needs, derive test cases, understand and document their use case.

  • Resolve problems by translating business requirements, identifying trends and defining scope to inform technical solution.

  • Analysis of large sets of product reference data across Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives and Structured Finance securities from varying sources.

  • Define and design enhancements to the system, business processes and process automation utilizing best practices and industry standards.

  • Consult with users and clients to trouble shoot complex system issues/problems through in-depth evaluation of business processes and systems.

  • Identify and communicate risks and impacts, considering business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment

  • Foster communication between business leaders and IT stakeholders facilitating exchange of ideas/information in a concise and logical manner.

  • Providing reports, metrics and presentations to inform business users.

  • Test systems to ensure projects meet requirements and identify system problems

  • Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • Proven relevant experience

  • Demonstrate excellent analytical skills, communication and presentation skills with an ability to tailor delivery to the required audience.

  • Proven problem-solver with the ability to work under pressure, approach work methodically and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements

  • Ability to work independently and in a team across levels, regions, and functions, with understanding of how collaboration accomplishes objectives.

  • Able to operate with a limited level of direct supervision. And can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.

  • You should have experience of partner management and influencing skills

  • Experience in data analysis with knowledge of databases would be beneficial

  • SQL skills would be beneficial

  • Microsoft office skills - Primarily Excel

  • Familiarity with the various stages of Software Development Lifecycle and knowledge of applicable business systems and industry standards.

  • Knowledge Capital Markets/Investment Banking industry highly advantageous

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree/University degree OR equivalent experience
