Key responsibilities of the ETRC Team
ETRC works with Markets E-Trading businesses, business CAOs, and second-line functions to implement the E-Trading Risk Framework to measure, monitor, and report on (in governance) inherent risk and residual risk. This, in turn, informs Markets compliance with risk appetite which it reported to and monitored in various senior governance forums. ETRC works with the business second line functions (e.g., Compliance and Risk), to execute on the following:
Governance and oversight of E-Trading businesses across Markets, which includes annual attestation/review of key E-Trading documentation, and MiFID II Annual Self-Assessment in EMEA (Market Access Rule for the US);
Co-ordination with the E-Trading businesses, the Manager Control Assessment, and Second Line review & challenge sessions of MCA results.
Project management of key markets-wide E-Trading initiatives and remediation of corrective actions arising from Regulators and Internal Audit findings.
Real-time monitoring of Citi’s algorithmic trading activities for signs of disorderly trading.
Design, deliver, and maintain Market’s E-Trading Controls, such as Citi’s gold-source repository for strategies (algorithms) and E-Trading applications and E-Trading limits management system.
Lead reviews by global banking and securities regulators, Compliance testing, and Internal Audit of E-Trading business, including preparing of responses to findings and corrective action plans (as needed).
Key Responsibilities of the Role:
Perform Real-Time Monitoring (RTM), which involves monitoring and investigating relevant alerts from trading systems that could indicate signs of disorderly trading. For relevant alert triggers, escalate to management and second line where necessary.
Assist in the development of new alerts that could identify signs of disorderly trading.
Assist in the development of the strategic RTM tool, which includes documenting requirements and regular engagement with the development team.
Ensure EMEA RTM procedure is regularly reviewed and updated.
Perform RTM on relevant UK Bank Holidays.
Support periodic reviews of the in-scope activity and alert scope taking into account new applications/strategies.
Participate in and prepare materials for monthly/bi-monthly RTM meetings with relevant Businesses to review the RTM performance over the period.
Assist in cross-Market enhancement projects.
Develop and manage key relationships with the EMEA E-Trading Businesses, Technology, Risk and Compliance functions.
Knowledge, Experience & Skills:
Prior relevant E-Trading experience preferably in a trading or controls related monitoring role.
Strong product knowledge in FICC and Equities
Experience in performing a monitoring role
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
Excellent project management skills with the ability to balance competing priorities.
Tenacious hands-on problem-solving skills.
Ability to work across businesses, functions, and other key stakeholders.
Experience in developing a monitoring tool is preferable
Experience in presenting in senior governance forums is preferable
