Job SummaryPlans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing processes by providing technical support in the development, implementation and maintenance of manufacturing systems per project requirements.
PRINCIPLEACCOUNTABILITIES/DUTIES:
- Define and implement manufacturing systems appropriate for customer applications.
- Support manufacturing KPIs such as OEE, Yield, Scrap and Downtime
- Establish and improve robust, repeatable, and reproducible process parameters
- Capability to independently or together with other engineering stakeholders identify root causes of failures in the manufacturing process
- Advanced troubleshooting of complex mechanical issues with high-speed automated manufacturing equipment
- Provide equipment maintenance and repair support as required.
- Understanding the manufacturing process, technologies, techniques, and the product
- Support creation and implementation of engineering change orders (ECOs).
- Develop, implement, and take ownership of process control methodologies.
- Participate in activities pertaining to cycle time and process improvements.
- Implement statistical process analysis on new and existing products.
- Develop and maintain process documentation.
- Assist in the development of training and provide training to production personnel
- Define, Implement, and evaluate proposed design updates and processes.
- Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods.
- Create work instructions and coordinate training for facilities and production personnel
- Analyze and plan workforce utilization, space requirements and workflow, design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
- Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs for implementation of manufacturing systems.
- Coordinate/participatein pFMEA of manufacturing processes
- Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
Container Manufacturing Engineering responsibilities:
- Work with technicians to identify and troubleshoot issues with equipment
- Create work instructions that address known issues – train technicians
- Review PM content and frequency and align with known issues to improve performance and reduce downtime
- Develop machine improvements that will improve long term performance
- Develop setup tools to improve SKU changeover times - train technicians
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- B.S. inMechanical/Industrial/ManufacturingEngineering with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience working in a medical device manufacturing or other highly regulated manufacturing environment, e.g. Automotive; Defense/Aerospace, Pharmaceutical, and/or Food & Beverage.
- Industrial/ManufacturingEngineering experience working in high-volume automated assembly processes
- Knowledge of automated equipment systems and tools - robotics, Vision (e.g. Cognex, Keyence), material handling/part feeding systems, conveyors, ultrasonic welding, foil sealing, HMI/PLC controls.
- Travel required – 5% (for training)

Pay Range (Applicable to Illinois) $80,400.00 USD - $110,500.00 USD AnnualProduction Engineering
