Design automated and semi-automated tooling to support manufacturing process validation and prototype builds for drive unit assemblies
Develop and test new manufacturing processes for existing and new products
Provide design for manufacturing feedback to product design engineering
Manage the procurement, construction, and deployment of automated production equipment
Manage suppliers during specification, design, buyoff, and installation of manufacturing equipment
Ramp high volume manufacturing equipment to meet acceptable performance before handoff to operations
Identify and drive continuous improvement and cost reduction programs
Generate and maintain machine documentations
Actively use tool data sources (e.g., MES reports) to quantitatively evaluate and track tool performance and create programs to improve relevant metrics
What You’ll Bring
Prior internships or full-time experience in mechanical design of machinery and manufacturing engineering or similar role
Proficiency using 2D & 3D CAD to generate engineering drawings, manufacturing layouts (Solidworks, Catia, AutoCAD)
Experience working with automation systems, robotics, PLCs, and data collection systems
Experience with manufacturing processes including fastening, press joining, induction heating, dispense, leak testing, robot pick and place, machine vision, and part feeding
Working knowledge of data analysis, statistics, SPC (JMP, Minitab)
Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience
Ability to travel 10% of the time, both domestically and internationally
