Develop and launch all new manufacturing processes
Identify root causes of production bottlenecks, equipment malfunctions, and variability, using first principles thinking to drive sustainable solutions
Design, implement, and refine manufacturing processes to maximize efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure the highest levels of product quality
Collaborate and manage internal and external equipment integrators from equipment development through handover to local operations teams
Install, commission, and qualify new equipment and fixtures for production implementation
Use manufacturing data to inform decisions, track progress, and identify areas for improvement in real-time
Create detailed documentation for equipment handover to operations team
Troubleshoot processes capability and stability through root cause analysis and design of experiments
Travel domestically/internationally to help support equipment FATs and across Tesla sites as needed (<50% Travel expected)
What You’ll Bring
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret production data and solve technical challenges using first principles
Design of mechanical equipment, fixturing, and tooling in CAD (SolidWorks preferred, CATIA is also a plus)
Multiple new equipment installations and experience developing automated manufacturing equipment
Multiple new product startups and experience transitioning products from prototype to production
Demonstrated experience collaborating effectively across engineering, operations, and maintenance teams
3+ years of experience in high-volume, automated manufacturing environments with a focus on battery or automotive industries
Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience
