How you’ll spend your day
  • Spain Medical Affairs Strategic Leadership: Co-lead Spain innovative medicines strategy for pipeline, pre-launch, launch and inline products. Develop Medical strategies and external engagement plans to ensure successful commercialization of Teva’s innovative medicines and patient access.
  • Spain Medical Affairs Tactical Execution - Oversee Medical tactical execution, including Spain pre-launch, launch and inline products execution and pipeline clinical trial recruitment. Manage day-to-day team operations. Ensure excellence in execution, including accountabilities for timeliness and effective budget management.
  • Spain Medical Affairs Capability Building: Develops and executes strong annual plans to maximize the medical affairs capabilities of local Spanish medical team aligned with regional medical VP and GM.
  • Reimbursement, Patient Access and National Guidelines: Develops and executes early strategical and tactical local medical plans to succeed in these areas, ensures medical team has a deep understanding of Spanish payer landscape and develops early external engagement plans accordingly. Provides timely input to pipeline product development at phase II level, to ensure Spanish reimbursement requirements are reflected in clinical study protocols and Spanish patients have access to new innovative pipeline products.
  • MSL Team: Builds a world class, highly capable and high performing MSL team. Develops stretch qualitative and quantitative KPIs and capability building projects for MSLs on a yearly basis.
  • Local Strategic Data Generation: Drives strategic data gaps analysis for future and inline products based on the needs of Spanish clinical practice, guidelines and patient access requirements. Develops protocols (interventional or RWE) and executes studies, develops publications and disseminates data, so that the needs of the patients, payers and physicians are met in a timely manner.
  • Provides strong compliance oversight to Investigator Sponsored Studies, Collaborative research, company sponsored studies and PSPs. Ensures quarterly compliance KPIs are achieved for these programs.
  • Acceleration of patient recruitment for pipeline products and Teva studies: Engages and builds credible positive relationships with investigators to accelerate patient recruitment of Teva studies (Phase I-II-III-IV). Delivers global and regional KPIs for investigator engagement.
  • Strong partnership with regional medical team: Attends and contributes to European Medical leadership team, establishes strong collaboration and alignment with Regional Medical Team (TA Leads, Strategy Operations) based in Amsterdam Netherlands.
  • Has highest level of personal ethical integrity and honesty in leadership behaviors, assures compliance with code of conduct, law, Teva regulations and SOPs in business operations.
  • Key member of EU MLT and Local Spanish Leadership team.
  • Core partner with a broad range of commercial players in the Country.
  • Review, explore and develop creative, impactful, and efficient ways to continuously improve the medical matrix model and operation in the Country with regional/global partners. (In collaboration with TPE medical TA heads and VP EU).
  • Responsible for Medical Affairs budget

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

  • Track record of diverse successful and relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry for a minimum of 15+ years of working experience with 10+ years in pharmaceutical industry. In depth understanding of the medical affairs function gained through varying roles in Spain and international level.
  • Previous people management, team leadership experience.
  • Life sciences university studies is a must (MD, Pharmacist, Biologist…). M.D. preferrable
  • Past or current experience in clinical practice is welcome.
  • Knowledge of Spanish environment including KOL and external stakeholders’ network.
  • Tangible experience of dealing with regulatory authorities locally.
  • Solid understanding of clinical trial execution and experience in driving Spanish site identification and patient recruitment acceleration, is strongly preferred. Identifies and solves barriers to successful clinical trial recruitment in Spain sites for Phase II-III-IV studies.
