Microsoft Research Redmond is actively seeking a qualified postdoctoral researcher to join us in advancing the state-of-the-art in computational environmental sustainability. The ideal applicant will possess awareness of environmental sustainability issues and be proficient in using computational and Machine Learning (ML)/Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques to solve problems and drive impact in this space. Example research areas include, but are not limited to: high-performance simulation, optimization (including geospatial), ML, AI, and Generative AI, applied to molecular, materials, physical, or process design, environmental issues, permitting or deployment, related to electricity, construction, or carbon removal.

Research Sciences IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
