Principal Duties and Essential Responsibilities:

  • Creation and management of Verint’s risk & compliance programs, policies and procedures, monitoring, training, audit, and initiatives.
  • Research and advise on compliance, regulatory, ESG, risk, and corporate matters.
  • Counsel and provide strategic guidance regarding regulations and best practices related to trade compliance, anti-bribery / anti-corruption, and ESG.
  • Manage legal and compliance risk by anticipating and detecting areas of potential exposure, implementing, or expanding preventive measures to ensure compliance and avoid costs, increasing employee awareness, and improving Company decision-making.
  • Day to day oversight of trade compliance program and activities, supervising a seasoned trade compliance manager.
  • Oversight and execution of anticorruption screening and due diligence activities.
  • Assisting in oversight, management, and execution of Verint’s ESG program, with focus on environmental / climate aspects of ESG, including coordination with multiple internal functions and public disclosure.
  • Administration of Verint’s Ethics Helpline, including conducting required investigations on ethics, compliance, legal, or other issues.
  • As requested, planning, scoping and execution of periodic enterprise risk assessments and operationalizing outputs as part of Verint’s enterprise risk management program.
  • Collaboration with and/or management of outside legal advisors, ESG consultants, and internal auditors in relevant areas.
  • Develop and oversee company training activities and materials in relevant areas.
  • Assist with other risk, compliance, or corporate initiatives as directed by supervisor.

Minimum Requirements:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to a State Bar.
  • 10 years of experience in a nationally recognized law firm and/or the legal or compliance department of a global technology company.
  • 5+ years of experience with the legal and regulatory requirements (e.g., FCPA, EAR, OFAC regulations, ESG regulations, GDPR, CCPA, and equivalent regulations and disclosure requirements in other countries) applicable to a global technology company.
  • Ability to work under pressure against deadlines and deliver results.
  • Ability to function effectively and collaboratively as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Attention to detail, continuous improvement, learning, and innovative mind set.
  • Strong work ethic, well-organized, and detail oriented.
  • Successful completion of a background screening process including, but not limited to, employment verifications, criminal search, OFAC, SS Verification, as well as credit and drug screening, where applicable and in accordance with federal and local regulations.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience working with regulatory agencies in the U.S. and abroad.
  • Excellent communication, negotiating and drafting skills.
  • Excellent issue-identification, analytical and investigative skills.
  • Strong client counseling skills, from both the legal and business perspectives, with the ability to differentiate between the two and provide sound, practical advice.
  • Strong organizational skills and proven ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Comfort with changing business and legal/regulatory environment.
  • Previous experience managing one or more people.
