Job Summary

As the Technical Accounting Manager for the Statutory Accounting and Reporting team, you will be the primary technical resource for global accounting and reporting at the statutory level. In this role you will also be responsible as the finance lead for environmental, social and governance (ESG) compliance.

Job Responsibilities
  • Performs research and establishes accounting positions along with the Director of Statutory Accounting and Reporting and Chief Accounting Officer for complex transactions including maintaining high standards of quality and timeliness for all deliverables including those from consulting partners
  • Maintains current local accounting and reporting and disclosure requirements including leading annual updates for the Statutory Accounting and Reporting team and other finance and partner functions as appropriate. Monitors the global accounting regulatory environment for emerging issues.
  • Supports the timely completion of statutory audits that require complex local GAAP accounting positions or disclosures and any supporting documentation including financial valuations
  • Acts as the primary technical accounting resource to support NetApp responses to inquiries from regulatory agencies
  • Provides education and training to the Statutory Accounting team on technical accounting matters.
  • Synchs periodically with the Corporate Technical Accounting team to align accounting positions where appropriate and participate in adoption planning for emerging accounting guidance.
  • Provides input to Audit Committee materials as needed.
  • As the Finance function ESG lead, identifies relevant local ESG requirements, proposes methodologies or processes to meet requirements and coordinates compliance with Corporate Legal including advance planning of future needs.
Job requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CIA certification preferred with knowledge of accounting principles and standards, including IFRS or US GAAP, and experienceapplying them to complex transactions.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in accounting and financial reporting, with a focus on statutory accounting and regulatory compliance within a multinational company.
  • Superb interpersonal, communication and cross functional collaboration skills
