Job Summary

As the Director of Statutory Accounting and Reporting, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the multi-national statutory accounting and audit process within NetApp. Your primary role will be to ensure compliance with legal requirements and financial regulations by leading a team of statutory accounting professionals.

Job Requirements

In this role, the Director will:

  • Coordinate with external auditors and Corporate Legal to develop and implement audit plans in accordance with statutory requirements and company policies and ensure timely completion of audit reports and filings and ensure visibility to all key stakeholders and senior management.
  • Oversee the preparation of and review of financial statements, reports and audit schedules prepared by your team to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Establish accounting positions and other accounting requirements in connection with the adoption of new standards as well as any significant changes to legal and tax structures or M&A.
  • Respond to audit findings and implement recommendations effectively.
  • Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, regulators, and other relevant parties, to address inquiries and ensure compliance with requirements.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of applicable accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices to ensure compliance and drive process improvements.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff on relevant accounting and audit topics, procedures, and best practices.
  • Support ad-hoc projects and initiatives as required by senior management.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and communicate insights effectively.
Education
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in accounting and financial reporting, with a focus on statutory accounting and regulatory compliance within a multinational company.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CIA certification preferred with knowledge of accounting principles and standards, including IFRS or US GAAP, and experience applying them to complex transactions.
