As a Cloud Economics Business Value Specialist within AWS, you will help AWS customers shape their IT strategies and financial models, and quantify both the cost and value benefits of running applications in the cloud. To do this, you will collaborate with AWS sales teams to engage prospective customers to share best practices migration and finance strategies, and build board-ready business cases. You will identify technical and economic barriers to adoption of AWS with these customers and develop repeatable strategies to overcome objections. You will communicate the value proposition for AWS to a broad audience of IT, Finance and Business leaders.Your responsibilities will include driving migration ROI related business development activities within AWS, supporting the AWS Sales, Solution Architecture, Marketing, Business Development and product teams on customer engagements. You will serve as an expert resource on the financial modeling of IT applications and infrastructures and quantification of cloud value benefits. As necessary, you will bring in other AWS resources to help our customers properly evaluate their IT options in the cloud.
This is a customer facing role. You will be required to travel to client locations and deliver professional services when needed.
Key job responsibilities
• Analyze customers' on-premises infrastructure and develop migration strategies that make financial sense
• Create compelling business cases to help customers understand the financial benefits of moving to AWS
• Partner with customers' finance and technology teams to identify and address cloud adoption barriers
• Build and present ROI models that demonstrate the value of cloud migration to key stakeholders
• Collaborate with AWS sales teams to help customers understand both technical and financial benefits of cloud adoption
• Share cloud migration best practices and cost optimization strategies with customers
• Work with customers' executive teams to align cloud strategies with business objectives
• Partner with internal AWS teams to develop and improve cloud economics

- 6+ years of developing, negotiating and executing business agreements experience
- Bachelor's degree
- 6+ years of experience with On-premise infrastructure (data center, compute, storage, networking, databases)
- Experience in developing financial models and ROI analysis for IT infrastructure
- Experience creating and presenting business cases to stakeholders
- Experience with Cloud computing concepts and migration strategies

- Experience with cloud solutions and virtual platforms
- AWS Cloud Certifications such as AWS Solution Architect Associate
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with 3rd party commercial licensing (Oracle / MS SQL)
- Experience in working as a change and transformation agent
- Excellent communication skills with ability to translate technical concepts into business outcomes
- Ability to engage confidently with C-suite executives
- Master’s degree or technical degree
