As a Senior IT Engineer in Desktop Field Services, your role involves a wide range of responsibilities related to desktop infrastructure. Your key responsibilities include:
Investigating and resolving issues related to operating systems (both Windows and Linux), networks (LAN/WAN), systems, and applications.
Performing root cause analyses and escalating issues as necessary.
Test and deploy hardware and software solutions.
Manage end-user technology projects, such as migrations, deployments and introducing new technology solutions.
Provide excellent customer service over the phone/email and in person.
Handle administration for various technology platforms, including mobility, messaging, collaboration, and unified communication spaces.
Follow up with customers to ensure their technology needs are being met and issues are resolved.
Communicate effectively with leads via email and direct conversations. Provide recommendations to overcome obstacles.
Serve as a resource for less experienced personnel, sharing your knowledge and expertise.
Collaborating with internal business partners to ensure new systems meet user requirements.
Documenting solutions and common processes.
Networking with colleagues to gain insights and connections.
Contributing to technical discussions and brainstorming project strategies.
Level of Responsibility:
Working with minimal supervision.
Proven excellence in customer service, interpersonal, customer-facing skills.
Conveying complex information verbally and in writing to individuals with limited subject knowledge.
Most tasks involve multiple steps, requiring effective planning and prioritization.
Define and standardize procedures and automated mechanisms to ensure availability, reliability, security and scalability of desktop and environments.
Using deductive and inductive problem-solving approaches.
Exercising creativity within established guidelines when drafting original documents or knowledge base articles.
Experience:
Over 6 years of IT-related work experience, including 2+ years leading projects/programs.
Enterprise-level desktop support experience.
Technical lab support experince
Education and Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, technical, engineering, or related fields.
Relevant certifications such as ITIL, MCSE, CISSP, etc.
Skills:
Strong listening and problem-solving skills.
Strong experience troubleshooting complex Windows 10 & Linux operating system issues.
Experience using PowerShell for scripting and automation.
Ability to quickly diagnose and resolve technical issues and to eliminate those repetitive issues both on-site and remotely.
Minimum Qualifications:
• 3+ years of IT-related work experience with a Bachelor's degree.
5+ years of IT-related work experience without a Bachelor’s degree.
Physical Requirements:
• Frequently transports and installs equipment up to 20 lbs.
