Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Each day will present different activities and opportunities as you help position Jacobs for success in our sales efforts. Our Career-level Graphic Designers will be responsible for the following general activities:
- With little to no supervision, leads strategic graphic design solutions to support the production of winning proposals, sales materials, and presentations, including but not limited to long document layouts, PowerPoint presentations, story boards, covers/dividers, marketing collateral/brochures, illustrations, interactive PDFs, ads, and digital media
- Must be able to take diverse perspectives to solve design problems and drive effective solutions
- Plans, conceptualizes, and designs compelling and impactful graphics while collaborating with proposal team members and technical staff to strengthen messaging and successfully sell Jacobs
- Understanding of one or more markets and/or client groups within Jacobs; begin to develop relationships account teams
- Conveys complex ideas with smart and concise graphic designs; develops complex concepts visually beyond bullet points
- Interpret and convert technical data and conceptual content into more accessible and visually appealing information
- Uses diverse perspectives to solve design problems and drive effective solutions
- Must be knowledgeable in software trends; acts as a resource for graphic design methods and tools, developing and implementing process improvements, tool(s) improvements, and best practices
- Shares technical expertise with others and provides guidance and support; mentors other team members in technical areas
- Coordinate and provide production and vendor support for submittals and interviews to instruct external vendors as needed on printing requirements.
Here's what you'll need
Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design or related discipline from a four-year College/University; work experience in A/E/C that matches the requirements of the position in lieu of degree; Masters degree a plus
- 5-10 years professional graphic design experience; A/E/C and/or Sales experience a plus
- Exceptional skills in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat) and Microsoft PowerPoint; proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams); experience working with additional creative, visual, interactive, and multimedia tools a plus
- Advanced knowledge of procedures and technical concepts required for role, including design aptitude to understand what constitutes good design, and a demonstrated ability to apply that knowledge using layout, typography, graphics, and images in order to produce highly effective visual communications
- Prior Architectural/Engineering & Construction and/or Proposal and Sales experience a plus
- Knowledge of ArcGIS plug-in for Illustrator, SketchUp, Streetmix, and Interactive PDFs a plus
- Illustration and hand sketching experience a plus
