What you'll be doing:
Lead and manage all tax activities and compliance for the APAC region, including corporate income tax, tax incentives, transfer pricing, and audits.
Provide strategic tax advisory to internal teams and senior business leaders, ensuring business operations and initiatives are structured in a tax-efficient manner.
Analyze new tax legislation and its potential impact on the company’s operations in the region.
Partner with external auditors, tax consultants, and tax authorities to manage tax audits and ensure accurate filings.
Collaborate with the global Tax team and other cross-functional teams (e.g., Finance, Legal, and Treasury) to identify opportunities and align on and implement tax strategies.
Identify and mitigate potential tax risks associated with business activities, contracts, and cross-border transactions.
Develop and implement processes to enhance tax compliance and improve efficiency within the organization.
What we need to see:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Qualified CPA or equivalent with 12+ overall years of experience in tax, with at least 6+ years in a leadership or managerial role at a multinational corporation.
Deep expertise in international direct taxation, transfer pricing, and tax compliance across the APAC region.
Proven ability to think strategically, plan effectively, and provide hands-on, detail-oriented support for complex tax matters.
Demonstrated experience in a strategic, business advisory tax role, including a history of interacting with senior business leaders.
Demonstrated experience in the semiconductor manufacturing or technology industry.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all organizational levels.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
Fluency in Mandarin and English is required.
Ways to stand out from the crowd:
Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, MST, Law) or related professional qualification.
Experience with US GAAP, FIN 48, and ASC 740.
Familiarity with ERP systems, such as SAP.
A track record of building and managing tax functions from the ground up.
