Key requirements

• Responds to Material Requirements Planning (MRP) messages to procure material in order to support production requirements - responsible for sourcing, creation of purchase orders, maintenance of key planning parameters, reconciliation of invoices and purchase order issues
• Obtains the best value for material, best value is defined as a combination of price, delivery, quality and service., considering total cost of acquisition when making procurement decisions
• Actively participate in company projects, company development, and identification of possible cost lowering measures, improved yield and productivity
• Manage supplier performance to ensure site is working with the right strategic suppliers to support short and long-term objectives
• Create and support commodity-based sourcing strategies to ensure site is working with the appropriate vendors

Key skills and qualifications

• Experience within purchasing or buying preferable from a production background or within the aerospace industry
• Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate concisely at all levels inside and outside the company coupled with negotiation skills
• Result-oriented, proactive, team-player who is responsive and responsible to deliver on commitments
• SAP and Excel skills
• Good organisational skills and planning skills
