The projects comprise of all marine construction elements and include but not limited to dredging, reclamation, ground improvement, beaches, quay walls, revetment, groynes and breakwaters.

In joining Jacobs you will:

• Report to and support the Assistant Resident Engineer or Resident Engineer in supervising the contractor’s daily activities specifically related to survey works, but you may also be required to carry out general marine inspector duties as well.

• Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols for marine surveying operations.

• Prepare detailed reports documenting survey methods, data collected, findings, and recommendations. Including visual aids such as charts, maps, and diagrams.

• Review and comment on contractor shop drawings, method statement and inspection and test plans.

• Develop detailed survey plans and methodologies tailored to the specific requirements of dredging, reclamation, quay walls, rock revetments, beaches and other marine specific construction projects.

• Responsible to witness contractor performing surveys, logging the information and verifying the installed quantities in coordination with the contractor, employer and quantity surveyors on the team.

• Monitor and report on progress of the Works and ensure that the Works are constructed to the correct line and level and in accordance with the drawings and specification.

• Implement quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of survey data.

• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate survey activities with overall project plans and timelines.

• Regularly calibrate and maintain survey equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.

• Stay current with advancements in surveying technology and methodologies. Implement new techniques and tools to improve survey efficiency and accuracy.

Here's what you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in marine surveying, hydrography, geospatial sciences, oceanography, or a related field.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in marine surveying, particularly in projects involving dredging, reclamation, and other marine construction.

• Proficiency in using hydrographic survey equipment (e.g., echo sounders, GPS, ROVs), data processing software (e.g., Hypack, Caris), and GIS tools.

• Good physical condition for fieldwork, including working on boats and in various weather conditions.

• Approvals from local authorities is an advantage

• Ability to communicate in English with a high proficiency both written and spoken
