Your impact

In joining Jacobs you will:

• Primarily be concerned with the inspection and quality control of the construction of all marine structures including but not limited to dredging, reclamation, ground improvement, quay walls, beaches, revetments, breakwaters and groynes.

• You will report to and support the Assistant Resident Engineer/Resident Engineer in supervising the contractor’s daily activities, monitoring and reporting on progress, quality and safety by undertaking inspections and documenting your findings to ensure that the work is being constructed in accordance with the drawings and specifications.

• Safety Protocols: Monitoring and report on adherence to safety protocols for all marine construction operations. Participate in the development of job safety practices and in the preparation of safety reports.

• Conduct detailed inspections of marine structures, dredging sites, and reclamation areas to assess conditions and identify any potential issues.

• Witness and verify quality testing to determine if work has been done in accordance with contract specifications.

• Review and comment on contractor shop drawings, method statements, inspection and test plans.

• Coordination: Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to verify construction operations align with overall project timelines and objectives.

• Problem-Solving: Identify and suggest solutions to technical issues that arise during construction in coordination with the Assistant Resident Engineer/Resident Engineer.

• Reporting: Prepare detailed inspection and progress reports that include findings, recommendations, and any incidents or deviations from the plan.

• Environmental Monitoring: Monitor and document environmental impacts of the marine construction activities. Check compliance with environmental regulations and best practices.

• Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Here's what you'll need

• Bachelors Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or Marine Engineering.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in construction supervision of Marine and Infrastructure projects.

• Good physical condition for fieldwork, including working on boats and in various weather conditions.

• Approvals from local authorities is an advantage.

• Ability to clearly communicate in English
