KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

  • Process all aspects of payroll, including on-cycle, off-cycle, mid-month, month-end, bonuses, and international payrolls, ensuring adherence to all TIH policies, IRS regulations, and final pay state laws.
  • Utilize Workday to process payroll, manage deductions (including 401k contributions), calculate retro pay, and perform earnings reconciliation.
  • Assist with calculating standard overtime and FLSA OT rates.
  • Employ Enterprise Interface Builders (EIB) to upload variable pay elements and wage adjustments, validating data integrity.
  • Review terminations accurately and timely, including calculating final pay and adhering to separation pay regulations.
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information, ensuring accurate data for all stakeholders.
  • Assist with a wide variety of controls and audit functions to safeguard the integrity of payroll information.
  • Maintain comprehensive payroll records in electronic and paper formats for audit purposes.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external clients, addressing inquiries with payroll and accounting expertise.
  • Partner with team members to identify and implement efficiencies within the payroll process.
  • Participate in testing for Workday upgrades and configuration changes.
  • Answer questions from employees and/or supervisors regarding payroll.
  • Create and maintain SOPs as needed for current and new processes.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent education/training in a related field (HR, Accounting preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in payroll processing, with a strong understanding of payroll principles, tax regulations, and deductions.
  • Experience using Workday Payroll and ADP SmartCompliance required.
  • Experience with ACH payment processing and resolving rejections.
