Description
- Support product definition and drive closure of architecture and technical opens in early stages of a project- Establish and manage program feature baseline, scheduling, budget, critical paths, and technology risk areas for execution through final delivery of the product- Enable the development effort by creating and monitoring an efficient, streamlined process- Drive drawing releases and tooling kickoff with PD Engineering and the vendors to meet aggressive schedules- Plan and execute prototype builds by directing OEM partners- Drive day-to-day activities to meet overall project objectives including calling and running meetings among engineering stakeholders- Offer multiple levels of status across a wide spectrum of individual contributors to executive management via written and verbal communication
Minimum Qualifications
- BS ME/EE degree or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience leading program management or mechanical engineering design of product development
- Excellent communication, organizational, presentation and leadership skills
- Self motivated and proactive with demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities
- Deep understanding of rapid development cycles; remains flexible when faced with uncertainty and changes in direction
- Knowledge of product development processes as well as an understanding of manufacturing processes, mechanical engineering fundamentals; prior experience with metal stamping, forging, machining (CNC), die casting, plastic injection and metal injection molding (MIM) is highly desirable
- Strong attention to detail and ability to effectively manage complex design strategies
- Participated in delivering products comprised of multiple materials and high esthetic quality
- Experience interfacing with cross functional teams including Mechanical Engineering and Design, Manufacturing, Systems Engineering, Reliability, Operations, and Marketing
- Embraces ambiguous situations and drives closure
Pay & Benefits
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $160,700 and $282,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Note: Apple benefit, compensation and employee stock programs are subject to eligibility requirements and other terms of the applicable plan or program.
