What you need to know about the role- -The Senior Manager, Enterprise Incident Management Oversight is responsible for PayPal’s Second Line of Defense Incident Management Oversight activities, overseeing effective adherence to requirements set out in our Incident Management Policy. This role focuses on continual enhancement of our Incident governance framework and the identification and escalation of systemic Issues through the lens of Incident events.

Your day to day

In your day to day role you will...

  • Oversee enterprise-wide response to significant risk events, ensuring thorough root cause analysis, effective remediation, and comprehensive documentation.
  • Analyze incident data to identify systemic trends, emerging risks, and cross-functional control gaps.
  • Continuously enhance the incident oversight framework, including governance protocols, escalation criteria, and reporting standards.
  • Present incident trends and insights to senior leadership and risk committees; support regulatory responses and internal audits.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on Incident Policy during cross-functional reviews of events (e.g., cyber, technology, fraud, regulatory).
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure effective identification, documentation, and long-term resolution of incidents.
  • Develop and track oversight metrics to evaluate process maturity and effectiveness.
  • Partner with analytics teams to identify patterns of recurring minor incidents with aggregated business impact.
  • Support audit activities and mentor junior team members, fostering a culture of transparency, accountability, and risk-informed decision-making.

What do you need to bring-

  • 8–10 years of experience in Risk and Compliance in Financial Services and/or Fintech
    preferred

    • Risk certifications (e.g., CRM, CIA)
      preferred

  • Expertise in operational and enterprise risk management, including control design, issue management, root cause analysis, risk assessments, and executive reporting.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into insights using GRC tools (e.g., Archer, ServiceNow), BI platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), and structured root cause methodologies (e.g., Five Whys); deep understanding of operational processes, risk frameworks (e.g., COSO), taxonomies, and incident response
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex or conflicting information clearly and persuasively esp. to leadership.

The US national annual pay range for this role is $123,500 to $212,850
