• Architecture Guidelines: Define, align and document guidelines and architecture principles for AI feature implementation to ensure technical and architectural feasibility, readiness, and compliance
• Technical Coach and Advisor: Coach, advise and oversee implementation team(s) in all architectural aspects regarding compliance with architecture guidelines and relevant product standards for the ABAP AI functionalities.
• Regulatory Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to data privacy and security standards (SDOL) for AI functionalities. Deep knowledge or certifications in SAP Dev standards or Security curriculum are of added value.
• Integration and Educational Leadership: Champion the integration of AI into ABAP developer practices, enhancing productivity and output quality by teaching, coaching and inspiring our ABAP engineering teams to leverage AI in building applications.
• Research and Innovation for new AI feature design: Continuously monitor emerging AI technologies and enhance ABAP LLM models, focusing on how they can be integrated into ABAP Platform to innovate AI-driven features that meet specific business application needs.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with varying teams to pinpoint and seize AI opportunities. You will collaborate with Product Managers, Area Architects and UX designers to translate business requirements into architectural designs incorporating latest AI technologies

• Applicants for this position should have a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, and possess relevant experience.
• Hands on experience with AI innovations like natural language processing (NLP), large language models (LLM) or traditional ML /AI model training with proven track record of driving the successful launch and market adoption of AI solutions. Patent filing experience is a plus
• Proficiency in ABAP programming languages is necessary. Candidates are expected to understand ABAP development principles, SAP systems, and programming models.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills are essential, emphasizing the ability to work well in global and cross-cultural team. Fluency in English is a must for this role and German will be of added value.
