As the Tools Operations Lead for Capital One’s Experience Design organization, you will apply your technical, process management, risk management and analytical skills to manage all operational capabilities for our growing suite of tools. You will be responsible for working across the enterprise and managing and vendor relationships on behalf of the Experience Design organization to ensure that our tools are innovatively solving research and design capability needs, are onboarded in full compliance with Capital One’s cyber and risk requirements, are rolled out effectively to our user population to maximize adoption and are supported throughout their lifecycle.
What You’ll Do:You’ll be asked to handle a variety of responsibilities, including:
Understanding, documenting and analyzing current state capabilities regarding Tools. Leverage industry benchmarking to determine best practices and lessons learned.
Partnering with research and design leads to identify and prioritize capability requirements
Coordinate the assessment and onboarding of any new tools and work with existing vendors and technology partners on tool enhancement initiatives
Building and maintaining strong working relationships by collaborating with technology, product, and business teams to uncover customer and business needs
Write and revise documents such as policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines. Develop and enhance processes, tools, templates, and job aides. Write, contribute to, edit, and deliver presentations that aid in the design, development, refinement, and usage of Tools.
Collaborate effectively across multiple organizations such as Cyber InfoSec, Tech, Tech Architecture, Enterprise Supply Management, Operational Risk Management, Enterprise Risk Management, Compliance, Business Risk Offices
Ensuring the organization is appropriately informed of tools updates and risk management events
Oversees tool usage standards, in alignment with risk and cyber requirements
Driving momentum by keeping the overall work portfolio and team on track
Manage the intake process for tools questions and requests for the tool end users and our partners
Encouraging innovation and helping support and enable effective and efficient research and design teams
Advocating for prioritization of product enhancements grounded in research and analysis
Building and maintaining strong working relationships by collaborating with technology, product, and business teams to uncover customer and business needs
Driving momentum by keeping the overall work portfolio and team on track
Working with partners and teams across various geographies and facilitating workflow of co-located groups
Connecting with design community peers by learning, sharing, and teaching, as well as participating in the internal Community of Practice
Building and leading successful teams by mentoring, coaching, and elevating others
Guiding team members in strategy, research, alignment, analysis, process improvement, and change management
Navigating conflict resolution within your team as well as within projects, teams and partner relationships
Identify and evaluate new research and design tools and capabilities
Guiding changes to scope, design, and delivery schedules to meet business needs with available resources
Designing a tools management strategy and streamlined processes to support all users of the approved tools
Developing a tools communications and education strategy
Maintaining and providing oversight to a well-managed tools operations team by:
Overseeing and managing team structure (e.g., onboarding employees, managing contractors and vendors)
Planning and managing budgets, forecasting, and scoping new engagements
Identifying and managing risks and mitigation plans, as well as compliance and controls required for tools onboarding and management
Reporting on the portfolio of work to stakeholders. This may include reporting on workflow, scope, resourcing, forecasting, and value of delivery
Overseeing overall portfolio health and team satisfaction
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience, including Military
At least 5 Years of Program or Project Management experience
At least 3 Years of People Management experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced Degree in Technology or Cybersecurity related field
At least 8 years of Technical Program or Project Management experience
At least 5 years of Communications and Change Management experience
At least 5 years of People Management experience
Exceptional communication and collaboration skills
Excellent problem solving and influencing skills
Experience developing a Tools Strategy and delivering process improvements through automation
Experience with stakeholder management, specifically partnering with Technology, Cyber, Risk, and business partners
Experience managing multiple programs of work
Risk Management experience in financial services
Experience with agile principles, project management methodologies and tools
Familiarity with research and design tools
Familiarity working with design or creative teams
