What You Will Do:

  • Work with stakeholders from both Red Hat and IBM to craft technically accurate, end-user focused content, interacting with subject matter experts in Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Product Management disciplines.

  • Interact with globally distributed stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.

  • Serve as an advocate for end users and observe functional demonstrations, gathering details from developers, and learning to use the product.

  • Handle review and editorial responsibilities, both within the purview of primary project assignment and as a peer advisor to other Ansible technical writers, applying both Red Hat and IBM standards and styles to the documentation.

  • Work closely with engineering stakeholders, content strategists, support teams, and business stakeholders from Red Hat as a function of the content development life cycle.

  • Respond to customer feedback to address content gaps and continuously improve the documentation experience.

  • Use Red Hat documentation toolchain, versioning systems, and issue-tracking tools.

What You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Technical Communication or related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or related role.

  • Must have five (5) years of experience with reading, writing, and compiling technical documents, including but not limited to user manuals, feature descriptions, customer use cases, and release notes;

  • Must have five (5) years of experience with software and documentation development life cycles;

  • Must have three (3) years of experience with writing accessible and usable documentation that meets government regulations under Section 508 requirements for accessible documentation;

  • Must have three (3) years of experience with topic-based authoring to content creation;

  • Must have three (3) years of experience with version control systems;

  • Must have three (3) years of experience with enterprise issue tracking tools;

  • Must have two (2) years of experience using a writing style guide, including using consistent terminology, structure, and readability across corporate documentation.

The salary range for this position is $115,461 - $144,660. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.
