As the Global Head of the Portfolio Management Group, you will have the pivotal role in defining portfolio strategy for Trade & Working Capital, including serving on the management team and helping to shape future growth. The role also encompasses responsibility for the smooth running of the business, ensuring tight governance procedures and maintaining efficient operational practices.
Key responsibilities
- Ownership and operation of the global deal committee that serves as the key committee responsible for reviewing pricing, structure, appropriateness and risk appetite for all material transactions globally
- Active management of the global portfolio with daily decisions on the allocation of capital and liquidity across products and regions in order to optimize revenues, risk and returns
- Lead the quarterly portfolio review across regions and products, assessing trends and identifying risks that may arise from sovereign, industry or market that may impact the portfolio
- Lead cross-product strategic projects in the regulatory and governance spheres
- Oversight of the global distribution function, working closely with the global head of distribution to meet portfolio goals
- Oversight of the global middle office function, working closely with the global head of the middle office to position for growth, control risks and drive efficiencies
- Oversight of the data & analytics team, focused on best-in-class reporting and leveraging portfolio and market data to support business strategy
- Work closely with Treasury to ensure the alignment of the business with the direction of the firm
- Partner with the Trade Risk organization to drive robust frameworks for managing credit/product risk and set strategy for problem exposures
- Work closely with Business Management on efficient usage of financial resources, forecasting and to drive continuous improvement in business metrics
- In tandem with Compliance and Controls to monitor and address any governance gaps
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
- A sound understanding of Treasury matters including RWA, capital, liquidity and returns
- Deal experience, using solid credit and documentation skills in structuring complex transactions
- A strong governance mindset and the ability to work effectively with functional partners
- Demonstrated success in management roles requiring cross-functional engagement
- A high degree of ethics and integrity
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Familiarity with Trade products across trade instruments, receivables and export finance
- Experience in the distribution of debt exposures
- Knowledge of accounting guidance for structured trade finance facilities and internal P&L recognition
