J.P. Morgan — Trade & Working Capital (T&WC)
J.P. Morgan is looking for a Head of Export Agency Finance (EAF). As the head of this business, you will have global accountability and ownership for product strategy, P&L and end to end product delivery.
EAF sits within the Trade & Working Capital (T&WC) organization.
We partner with export credit agencies (ECAs), multilateral agencies (MLAs) and development finance institutions (DFIs) (together Agencies) to support our clients with financing structures that feature credit enhanced loans and/or direct loans. ECAs are established by governments to promote national exports. DFIs and MLAs are public financing institutions with economic development missions.
EAF leverages its extensive relationships with export credit agencies, multilateral agencies and development financial institutions to help clients of the firm meet their long-term financing solutions that meet their capex financing requirements thus empowering their business and investments to thrive.
EAF originates, structures, arranges and participates in agency-supported debt financing solutions for the firm’s clients..
Key responsibilities
- Responsible for driving product strategy at a regional and industry level taking into account competition, market dynamics, macro-economic and regulatory impacts.
- Responsible for managing product profitability (revenues, expenses and other internal metrics).
- Manage a senior leadership team, including regional and segment heads – based in different time zones), to deliver financial and performance targets.
- Maintain and build trusted business relationships across functional partners (Risk, Legal, Compliance) as well as with other businesses, both within Payments and in other divisions such as Markets and Global Banking.
- Serve as a product subject matter expert to clients and colleagues in relation to all aspects of the product.
- Undertake a senior/executive management role in representing the EAF both internally and externally.
- Utilise existing high level/executive relationships to maximise the visibility and use of the EAF product suite amongst clients.
- Responsible for ensuring continuance of best-in-class client engagement and transaction execution.
- Responsible for maintaining effective governance and control structure to mitigate risk to the business.
- Deliver the firm’s culture and conduct standards, including training and supervision; proper assessment of the fitness and propriety of any Certified staff; and escalation of any breaches of the Code of Conduct in accordance with Firm wide policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities
- Relevant experience in the Export & Agency Finance market with strong interpersonal, analytical and negotiation skills. Exceptional client management skills
- Proven ability to lead, motivate and influence, including highly experienced individuals in global and regional teams
- Strong all-round communication skills
- High level of transactional management experience
- Strategic thinking
- Adept at collaboration and building & leveraging internal and external senior level networks
Preferred Qualifications and Education
- Language skills are preferred but not essential
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills and project management capability
- Executive presence
