Job Description
The position is based in São Paulo, Brazil and will require 15% of the time for regional and international travel.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead collaboration across the enterprise to develop a unified approach to enhancing oncology treatment confidence that aligns with business priorities and positions our company as a thought leader in the field.
Assess, align, and streamline existing activities across the enterprise focused on improving oncology treatment confidence and patient access.
Assemble and engage a cross-functional team to create an overarching strategy for oncology confidence and coverage, including clear objectives, metrics, and priorities.
Translate the overarching strategic vision into actionable plans with key deliverables.
Establish a governance process, organizational structure, and a communications strategy for both internal stakeholders and external partners.
Ensure future sustainability by building essential capabilities within commercial teams across various franchises in the country.
Develop a robust data strategy that enables measurement and monitoring of patient sentiment regarding oncology treatments, including insights from customer intelligence activities, market research, and clinical activities.
Differentiate our company through impactful coalitions and partnerships that address challenges to oncology treatment confidence.
Be an ambassador, thought leader, and advocate for the oncology industry, treatment access, and our company at key global events and meetings.
To lead the Oncology local operations team (approximately 7 FTE direct reports and a team of 115 talents) who are subject matter experts in Oncology. Thereby supporting the local strategy and operations across the country, which has experienced significant revenue growth in recent years.
Through membership of the Brazil’s Leadership Team, to develop and implement a compelling and sustainable vision and strategy focused on consolidation and growth of core business product lines.
Leading, motivating and encouraging people to deliver exceptional performance and build superior teams at all levels to develop a high performing and collaborative organization.
Informing, influencing, and contributing effectively as part of the Brazilian Leadership Team to deliver the agreed budget targets.
Setting and communicating the financial and operational targets and supporting processes to control and deliver performance and return on investment in line with the global and regional and local strategy.
Building strong and effective commercial relationships with customers, suppliers, partners and other important external stakeholders, including government ministries and institutions.
Developing and maintaining deep knowledge of the industry and identify growth opportunities and /or new innovations.
Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will be experienced in a commercially focused leadership role. They will possess excellent influencing skills and a balance between strong strategic & commercial experience to be able to lead & problem-solve across a wide variety of marketing, sales, access, business development, manufacturing, and supply chain related topics. A driven and energetic personality, the candidate will be a natural self-starter with a focused approach to problem solving and a willingness to take a hands-on approach to achieve their objectives.
Proven strategic leader with the ability to operate at the highest levels of the business while also being hands-on and team oriented.
Strong business acumen with credibility in internal stakeholder engagement and influence.
Established networks and relationships in the private & public health institutions and oncology advocacy community, with the ability to engage and influence key players.
History of entrepreneurial thinking and a creative approach to developing new ideas that challenge the organization and push industry boundaries.
Proven experience in managing coalitions and partnerships that drive results alongside external stakeholders.
Deep understanding of the oncology business landscape and the needs of commercial organizations in combatting treatment hesitancy.
An analytical mindset and digital experience are preferred, as big data analytics and the use of digital platforms are crucial for impact.
Demonstrated ability as a go-to leader and thought partner for peers within the business and senior executives, along with a reputation as a thought leader for external stakeholders.
Excellent written and spoken communication skills, with public speaking experience and the capability to act as an ambassador of the company.
Collaborative approach to influence, navigate, and work with global teams towards a unified goal.
Strong scientific acumen and medical background preferred for credibility with external stakeholders, including healthcare professionals.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree required
MD, PhD, PharmD, or MBA preferred
Required Experience and Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree
Master’s degree is preferred
Proficiency in Portuguese or Spanish, and English
Proven experience in launching and managing coalitions or partnerships.
Ability to define and communicate a compelling vision.
Strategic mindset with inclusive leadership capabilities.
Managing Director, Country Manager or similar business unit size is preferred.
Proven track record on managing medium/large business commercially is mandatory.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to lead through influence.
Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills.
Collaborative working style within cross-functional teams.
Preferred Experience and Skills:
Experience in the Brazilian health environmental.
Proficiency in digital tools and strategies.
