Trade Compliance Manager – EU Logistics Distribution Center
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement FORTINET’s trade compliance (export/import) policies and procedures to ensure full compliance with EU, U.S., and international trade laws and regulations.
- Serve as the main point of contact for all export/import regulatory matters in the EU, especially regarding dual-use goods.
- Manage denied party screening and compliance due diligence of all FORTINET’s EU transactions.
- Ensure compliant classification of goods, country of origin determination, valuation, and licensing under EU and U.S. export control regulations.
- Support FORTINET’s revenue operations by ensuring seamless cross-border movement of goods, while minimizing risk and ensuring regulatory adherence.
- Oversee customs operations and ensure customs brokers are effectively managed and meet performance standards.
- Establish and maintain internal audit controls and ensure recordkeeping processes are compliant and efficient.
- Ensure new FORTINET products are correctly onboarded for import/export compliance.
- Collaborate with internal teams (legal, operations, sales) to proactively identify and mitigate trade compliance risks.
- Monitor and interpret regulatory changes and provide actionable compliance guidance.
- Provide trade compliance training to FORTINET employees and partners.
- Track and report on trade compliance KPIs related to FORTINET’s sale of dual-use products.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in international trade, logistics, business, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in global trade compliance, with a strong focus on EU/U.S. export regulations and dual-use controls.
- Proven experience developing and executing trade compliance programs.
- Strong background in customs operations and managing customs brokers.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, especially Oracle.
- Demonstrated audit, analytical, and risk management expertise.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, global environment.
Required Competencies & Experience:
- Deep knowledge of EU Dual-Use Regulation and U.S. EAR.
- Expertise in Incoterms, valuation, HS classification, and export/import licensing.
- Experience in the technology or network security sectors.
- Team-oriented with a positive, proactive mindset.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to interpret complex trade regulations.
- Adaptability in dynamic environments and readiness to stay abreast of evolving regulatory requirements.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively convey complex regulatory topics across all organizational levels.
