Job responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive accessibility testing on digital products, web and mobile applications, using a variety of assistive technologies and tools to review compliance WCAG 2.1 and 2.2.
- Perform manual and automated accessibility testing using various tools and assistive technologies.
- Identify accessibility barriers and provide recommendations for remediation.
- Create and maintain test cases and test scripts for accessibility testing.
- Verify and validate the accessibility of mobile applications, websites, and content.
- Document accessibility issues and findings with clear and actionable recommendations for remediation.
- Participate in planning and Stand-up meetings, collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, designers, and product managers to address accessibility concerns.
- Provide guidance and support on accessibility new ideas and techniques.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to communicate accessibility requirements and advocate for inclusive design.
- Advocate for accessibility within the organization and promote a culture of inclusivity. Identify opportunities to improve accessibility testing processes and methodologies.
- Stay informed about emerging trends and technologies related to digital accessibility.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Possess 3+ years of relevant accessibility testing knowledge.
- Broad knowledge of accessibility barriers as well as the tools and techniques for overcoming them
- Knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 and 2.2
- Ability to discern accessibility issues from wireframes and code.
- Follow Agile methodology. Ability to analyze and employ problem-solving skills to recommend the good solution.
- Detailed accessibility knowledge in a broad range of technologies:
- Various platforms including Windows, MacOS, Android and iOS. Video and other digital media, PDF and other document standards
- Hands on knowledge of assistive technology (for example screen readers, magnifiers, alternative input, etc.), basic knowledge of VPAT / ACR documents
- Technical knowledge including but not limited to:
- Web Accessibility Initiative such as Accessible Rich Internet Applications (WAI-ARIA)
- HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, qTest or other testing applications, Ability to analyze code for accessibility issues. Good knowledge of using JIRA and QTest.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Knowledge of International laws is a plus.
- Certification in accessibility (for example DHS Section 508 Trusted Tester, IAAP Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies) is a plus.
