As an Accounting Manager, you will leverage your Accounting and Financial Analysis expertise and apply your strategic and analytical skills to address major Controllers challenges. We proactively communicate with our partners and leadership, and help shape priorities by analyzing data, gathering metrics, identifying pain points and rationalizing business processes
Detailed activities and responsibilities include:
Manage the FDM disclosure process to ensure timely and accurate external SEC and Regulatory reporting, including analysis of activity, delinquency and subsequent default data,
Evaluate new FDM programs for appropriate classification in accordance with ASU 2022-02,
Serve as a subject matter expert over FDMs and Rewards Accounting,
Communicate rewards liability results to stakeholders on a quarterly basis,
Review journal entries and monthly account reconciliations,
Set the team agenda and lead projects, driving and influencing decisions on strategic imperatives or special topics,
Manage your team to elevate associate performance, create a positive environment and build and maintain a high performing team
Build and leverage relationships with business partners, including card accounting, SOX, tech and finance, to understand their processes and results,
Leverage new and existing technologies to enhance reporting and analytics,
Supporting compliance activities for management, internal audit and external audit groups by providing documentation and addressing queries
General responsibilities:
Create connections across the team and organization to drive collaboration
Leverage sound business judgment to evaluate analytical results and formulate recommendations
Share expertise and insights with business partners
Collaborate with the team to prioritize projects and support large scale Controllers initiatives
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors’ degree or military experience
At least 5 years of experience in accounting, external financial reporting, audit, or finance, or a combination
Preferred Qualifications:
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
2+ years of experience in banking, financial services, or a combination
1+ years of people management experience
1+ years of experience with Accounting Systems such as Peoplesoft, SAP or Oracle Financials
1+ years of experience with Reporting systems such as Onestream, Tableau, Google Data Studio
Ability to reach well-reasoned conclusions on financial reporting and disclosure issues
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to coordinate work across a team and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills
