The role holder is responsible for driving adoption of consistent technology architecture for clients and internal stakeholders within their respective country, ensuring global capabilities are adopted and that Citi operates a stable platform that meets or exceeds local regulatory requirements.
The role holder will also own Technology engagement with the local regulator, and therefore requires strong understanding of the local regulatory landscape. Excellent communication skills are required to influence a wide range of both internal and external stakeholders.
IT Strategy and Portfolio Management- Drive adoption of a consistent technology architecture for clients and internal stakeholders across geographies.
- Document the current state and future state of country technical architecture, based on global product roadmaps.
- Oversee country IT projects portfolio and investments.
- Partner with the Cross-Franchise Transformation Lead, to ensure delivery of cross-franchise programs.
IT Governance- Actively participate and represent all Technology functions on required country governance committees and respective follow ups.
- Provide thought leadership and actively represent Technology in industry forums to shape policy and regulations.
- Escalate events according to the Enterprise Risk Framework
Regulatory and Audit Engagement- Act as the senior point of contact for local regulators on Technology items.
- Represent Technology to country regulators including regulatory meetings, ongoing regulator engagement / update, onsite inspections, and data requests.
- Ensure proper framework to comply with regulatory expectations and implement new local / global regulatory requirements across Technology.
IT Resilience and Controls Oversight- Ensure Citi can operate a stable technical platform with rapid response to client impacting issues and issues that impact business continuity.
- Oversees Technology risk management, including Cyber.
- Escalate, manage, and ensure timely reporting of significant risk events and issues and with transparency to key franchise and cluster stakeholders following the escalation policy and standards.
- Ensure timely closure of Technology owned Corrective Action Plans (CAP) in country.
People, Client and Franchise- Ensure continued alignment to the Technology Operating Model and strategic priorities, enabling the franchise and businesses to achieve short-term and long-term goals.
- Lead a diverse, matrixed country Technology management team.
- Promote talent development and mobility with focus on building a strong talent pipeline, diverse talent, leveraging opportunities to develop futureleaders.
- Create and drive a culture of inclusion, diversity, and meritocracy, enabling strong ethical and leadership standards.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement for Technology.
Financial Management- Support the country Technology teams to meet and exceed financial goals. Work in partnership with cluster / business aligned Technology partners and country stakeholders to identify opportunities to optimize expenses.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 15 years’ experience in a Technology management role within a large financial institution, with a proven record of success and three or more years’ executive level experience preferred.
- Significant understanding of the regulatory environment and experience in managing regulatory expectations in a complex environment.
- Experience managing large, diverse teams including focus on development, engagement and diversity will be key to ensuring a motivated and engaged workforce.
Leadership- Strong technology risk experience, including perceptiveness to identify early warning signals.
- Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities to navigate challenges and identify optimal solutions.
- Proven capability to lead change effectively within a dynamic and evolving environment.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated people leadership skills, including the ability to connect, motivate, inspire, and guide a diverse team to achieve organizational objectives.
