Preferred Qualifications:

The Director GTB Technology Senior Developer is a leadership role that requires extensive experience in solution design and development focused in Client Onboarding. The role primarily focuses on building modern solutions within TD Securities Global Transaction Banking businesses, focused on Client onboarding, account setup and servicing. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in solution design, full stack development, data strategy, experience in large scale integration projects, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead design and develop technology solution to support the GTB Client onboarding, account setup and servicing.
  • Research/analyze business requirements to evaluate and recommend optimal solutions within technology architecture.
  • Review project detailed solution architecture and design ensuring it meets requirements / complies with the architectural and security standards, patterns and frameworks and provide sign-off on the detailed design.
  • Contribute to the development of project plans by providing input and manage projects / initiatives by directing assigned resources, communicating project status, and providing timely escalation of issues
  • Provide expert consultation and participate as a subject matter expert on projects of moderate to high risk and complexity.
  • Work with Technology Systems Analysts to develop a Requirements Traceability Matrix to ensure end-to-end traceability of the solution to the requirements.
  • Build consensus and facilitate collaboration and decision-making within/across business units to ensure consistent application of IT strategy and compliance with architecture framework
  • Continuously enhance knowledge/expertise in own area and keep current with emerging industry trends, new technologies and best practices in the external market that can contribute to delivering effective client solutions
  • May develop and/or contribute to negotiations of third-party contracts/agreements
  • Participate in knowledge transfer with senior management, the team, other technical areas, and business units
  • Work effectively as a team, supporting other members of the team in achieving business objectives and providing client services
  • Provide overall technology leadership and guidance for the delivery team.
  • Support bulding technology strategies to support the business goals of the organization.
  • Collaborate with other technology teams and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of systems with other applications.
  • Identify and evaluate emerging technologies and trends and make recommendations for adoption.
  • Collaborate with vendors and external partners to leverage their expertise and deliver innovative solutions.
  • Stay up to date with industry developments, regulatory changes, and market trends related to technology.
  • Drive data strategy initiatives, ensuring data quality, governance, and compliance.
  • Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on technology initiatives, progress, and challenges.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the technology team.
  • Promote a strong focus on customer satisfaction and strive for excellence in technology service delivery.

Required Skills:

  • Experience in building client onboarding and servicing workflow for Corporate clients.
  • Proven experience in technology solution and development leadership roles.
  • Proficiency in full stack development technologies and frameworks.
  • In-depth knowledge of data strategy, data governance, and data integration.
  • Hands-on experience with integration projects involving multiple systems and platforms.
  • Strong experience in back-end development technologies and frameworks, including:
    • Java RESTful services (Spring boot)
    • SQL and NoSQL databases
    • Message queue technologies (MQ and/or Kafka)
    • Event-based architectures
  • Experience in development leadership and technology architecture
  • In-depth knowledge of data strategy, governance, and integration
  • Hands-on experience with integration projects involving multiple systems and platforms
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to motivate and inspire teams

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • 15+ years related experience required
  • Demonstrated excellent management, organizational and leadership skills required
  • Proven ability to implement large and complex projects simultaneously required
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written required
  • Technical knowledge of technology in capital markets required
  • Experience in software development, including proficiency in programming languages, databases, and development frameworks
  • Experience with cloud technologies and architectures
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and strategically
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams

Depth & Scope:

  • Role generally supports a significant business area, product group, Enterprise Platform, Service or Capability under a Segment CIO or technology functional area.
  • Sets work direction at an operational level, works autonomously in the management of the unit and collaborates with other business or technology leaders to establish and execute on common goals with a medium to longer term business perspective
  • Expert knowledge of the business and bank technology standards (e.g., infrastructure, architecture, processes, applications) from a strategic perspective and managing/ directing teams and projects
  • Sound knowledge of external competition, emerging, industry and/or market trends in relation to own business
  • Integrator role that oversees various technology functions / resources to deliver business technical solutions or shared service
  • Oversees a sizable and varied team of technology professionals (e.g., up to 50+ consisting of Application Developers, Solutions Designers, Business Systems Analysts, Specialists, and/or Project Managers) in the end to end delivery of complex projects, system enhancements / applications and/or application or service management
  • Directs/manages large-scale applications/ projects across multiple product lines/ businesses, involving significant scope and complexity
  • Understands strategic direction (including financials) and champions alliances to benefit the Bank and/or department; advocates for operational improvements to enhance the divisions value to the organization
  • Role typically reports to an Executive role


Education & Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree or Technical Certificate.
  • Graduate degree, preferred.
  • 10+ years related experience.
