What you will do:
Gain an in-depth understanding of our customers' business goals, technical objectives and IT environments.
Collaborate with Sales, Customer Success and Partner Ecosystem teams to assess the potential application of Red Hat and Partner solutions.
Provide pre-sales technical leadership for the development and implementation of complex solutions and services.
Develop strategic relationships with our customers to become a trusted advisor.
Deliver proof of value to our customers and partners through presentations, demonstrations, workshops and pilot projects.
Research and write the responses to technical sections of RFIs, RFPs and RFQs.
Coordinate the technical efforts of other Red Hat resources like Product Specialists, Support and Professional Services.
Deliver compelling recommendations that result in the closing of new sales.
Own and meet a bookings quota and perform regular reviews and reports about the opportunities you are working on.
Share your expertise by contributing to documentation (e.g., wikis, quick-start guides, blog posts and white papers), developing reusable assets (e.g., demonstrations, workshops) and presenting at conferences and industry events.
What you will bring:
5+ years of experience as a Pre Sales engineer, consultant, developer, IT architect, or equivalent working in or supporting large organisations
3+ years of experience working with Cloud infrastructure, Automation, Kubenetes and a background in software development
Background and/or experience selling into FSI customers
Excellent questioning, listening, document writing, and presentation skills
An understanding of the challenges customers face adopting Hybrid Cloud models
Record of developing relationships at engineering, commercial, and executive levels throughout large enterprise IT organisation
The following are considered a plus, but not essential:
Knowledge of UNIX and Linux systems, preferably in Red Hat’s platform offerings including Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Red Hat Satellite
Knowledge of application runtimes, development frameworks, and architectures.
Understanding of Service Mesh, Event streaming and AI/ML
Knowledge of Enterprise security concerns
Proficiency in programming languages like Ruby, Python, Perl, and Java
Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), VMware Certified Professional (VCP), or Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certifications are a plus
Experience with Ansible and Ansible Tower, and Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Automation certifications
Experience designing and deploying Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform clusters
Experience across one or more business verticals like financial services, telecommunications, media, and government
Experience or exposure to application modernization
Understanding of complex enterprise solutions and architectures
Knowledge of and experience with public cloud technologies including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Compute Engine (GCE) and Microsoft Azure.
Solid understanding of modern methodologies like agile development, DevOps and associated capabilities like automation, orchestration, and configuration management
