As part of the E+D Growth team, you will help define and deliver our Product-Led Growth (PLG) strategy across Windows, Office, and beyond crafting magical, AI-powered experiences that hundreds of millions of people rely on every day.

As aPrincipal Software Engineering Managerwill play a critical role in driving the adoption and monetization of Microsoft 365 Copilot through Product-Led Growth methodologies. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of product development, user experience,and data-driven decision-making.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 15+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experienceoperatingonline services.
  • 5+ years of people management experience.


Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science OR related technical field AND 15+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, OR Python
    • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 10+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Exceptional skills in influencing and aligning diverse stakeholders acrossproduct, design, marketing, research, and business disciplines.
  • Ability to think strategically while diving deep into details,you can balance big-picture vision with day-to-day execution.
  • Experience working with AI/ML-powered experiences, platform services, or large-scale subscription businesses is a plus.
  • Passion for customer-centric innovation, operational excellence, and building inclusive, high-performance team cultures.
  • 5+years peoplemanagement experience.
  • People management experience at a big tech company.

Responsibilities
  • Guides partnership withappropriate stakeholders(e.g., project manager, technical lead) todetermineuser requirements within and across teams.
  • teamandleadsidentification of dependencies and the development of design documents for a product, application, service, or platform.
  • , debugs, refactors, and reuses code to improve performance and maintainability, effectiveness, and return on investment (ROI).
  • appropriate stakeholders(e.g., project managers).
  • actas an expert for Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) andmonitorsother engineers across product lines, working on call tomonitorsystem/product/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions.
  • Leads product development and scaling to customer requirements and applies best practices for meeting scaling needs and performance expectations and holds accountability for products that do not meet expectations.
