The role demands a dual mentality: both that of a strategic leader—who has a deep understanding of the dynamics of two-sided marketplaces, can break down tough problems into clear frameworks, operate in ambiguity, and possesses strong data intuition and executive-ready communications—as well as someone who can move quickly and decisively as an embedded operator not afraid to roll up their sleeves.
What You’ll Do:Define & Monitor Metrics: Build and develop key performance indicators to track business performance and identify key points of leverage in the category value chain. Responsible for monitoring metrics, identifying and understanding root causes behind the metrics movement, and presenting these insights to a senior audience.
Drive Strategic Insights: Apply strategic, operational, and analytical best practices to extract and present actionable insights on what’s driving business performance in strategic categories.
Develop Strategic Frameworks: Develop frameworks to measure category performance and in a way that directs the Verticals team where to focus attention for the most leverage on business performance. Build sustainable mechanisms to report results and flag important issues to internal partners and leaders.
Guide Strategy: Lead across teams to discover and align on category “must-win” initiatives, related to category assortment, pricing, marketing, on-site discovery, and conversion.
Collaborate: Drive strong partnership with key partners throughout the organization. Partner with Verticals leaders to understand strategic priorities, lead end-to-end solution innovation across the organization, ensuring partner teams are following strategic and operational best practices.
Be Accountable: Define business objectives and measure progress in achieving results; demonstrate strong commitment towards goals and driving complex projects focused on driving growth in right-to-win categories.
Is a strategic leader with vision, who understands the importance of analytics, design, and research and how all fit into building new processes and deploying new technologies
Has strong analytical/data science skills to dive into data and identity root causes

Communicates clearly, effectively, and proactively with exceptional listening, written, and verbal communication skills
BA/BS/MBA degree, with 8+ years of relevant experience within two or more functional areas (e.g.,Top tier strategy consulting ,Quantitative Research, Analytics, Data Science)
Deep data analysis expertise with the ability to find the trends and implications within data to inform sound decisions
Proven track record of designing analytical solutions to complex business problems and partnering cross-functionally with peers to tailor those solutions for the greatest possible impact
Strong programming (Python / R) and data engineering skills
Creative problem-solving skills
Focused execution, resourcefulness, and able to deliver results in a fast-paced environment
Experience acting as the voice of the customer and channeling many points of view, synthesizing them to drive alignment even in times of friction or disagreement
Experience communicating insights through data with senior-level executives
Strong customer and partner empathy
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York is expected in the range below.
