Reporting to the Capability Director for Project Delivery, you will work closely with the other Capability Leads, Portfolio Leads and peers in other Operating Units to develop Communities of Practice and common ways of working. You will actively seek to grow, develop, and lead our diverse team, encouraging Early Years careers, internal development of individuals and where required external hires, to create a team with diverse skills that complement the Transportation portfolio.
The primary objective will be to develop and implement Delivery Excellence strategies, processes, and tools to effectively manage project excellence and delivery across the region’s Portfolio.
Resposabilities
- Establish Quality Management as the norm on all Transportation Projects. Working towards standardisation and digital tools
- Liaise with other Project delivery Capability Leads, Portfolio Leads, Project Managers and peers in other OUs to bring together “best in class” solutions from across the Jacobs business and external sources.
- Lead and grow the Delivery Excellence team to provide the level of service required.
- Provide training and mentorship to develop your team’s skills to allow them to provide clear, accurate project systems that will naturally feed into data analytics.
- Providing direct support to projects and Project Managers
- Ensure their assigned projects meet the contract requirements for quality and comply with Jacobs’ Business Management System.
- To liaise with the client representative and contractors to ensure quality of products/supplies/services.
- Participate in and monitor actions arising from (not limited to): Operational Project Reviews, Design Reviews, Client Surveys and Design control and design change control
- Production & Development of any required Project/Portfolio Specific Procedures, Process and Quality Management Plans.
- Analyse reported data into information to assist in preventing nonconforming product, corrective actions, and compilation of lessons learnt
- Represent their assigned projects (with the Project Manager) during internal and external audits.
- Train staff or facilitate Project Quality Training
- Facilitate best practice, value enhancing practice and partnering as required. Promoting continual improvement, capturing project achievements, and Lessons Learned.
- Promote and support our Value+ proposition within projects to enhance the capture of Economic, Environmental and Societal efficiencies and added value
- Produce weekly and monthly QA reports.
- Display management and leadership qualities.
- Actively work with other Operating Units to develop standard ways of work through established Communities of Practice.
- Working closely with the Project Delivery Advisory team you will develop tools and working methods to ensure smooth flow of information between all data sources as part of the new data analysis approach.
- Proactively work to deliver consistent reporting processes inside projects and ensure that key messages are effectively communicated.
- Manage and deploy a team of Delivery Excellence resource, effectively and efficiently from the UK, India and Poland

- Experience of how linear and non-linear infrastructure project designs are successfully planned, segmented and designed by complex multi-discipline teams leveraging the right tools and procedures and processes. With an understanding of the markets within the Transportation Operating Unit including how transportation projects are procured, commissioned, delivered, and handed over.
- You will have a vision of how we move forward, with a practical solution-orientated approach to allow for successful delivery
- Have demonstratable experience and sound knowledge of NEC3/4 forms of contract
- Experience of leading and developing individuals within a team or a project, including inspiring others to engage with new processes and ideas.
- Demonstrate and contribute to the implementation of creative and innovative approaches to delivering better quality services and products
- Problem Solving and solution-based focus.
- An advanced degree is preferred.
- Knowledge and experience applying ISO 9001 and ISO 10005.
- Acts as a role model and mentor to quality coordinators and project teams as required in order to grow the next generation of quality managers
- Display diplomacy and Interpersonal skills.
- Have a detailed knowledge in interpreting and applying Specifications and Standards.
- Have a detailed knowledge and experience in developing PQPs, Method Statements and Inspection Test Plans.
