In this role, you will oversee Giga Berlin’s Compensation and Benefits strategy. You will be all about the details, best practices, knowing what good looks like and then raising the bar. What You’ll Do
  • Develop and maintain a Total Rewards strategy aligned with Tesla's Compensation Philosophy to meet the diverse needs of our employee groups, ensuring periodic review and renewal as necessary. Oversee salary surveys, custom compensation studies, and pay structure development to ensure competitiveness
  • Provide leadership in the design, implementation, communication, and administration of Total Rewards programs at Giga Berlin, ensuring alignment with Tesla’s Compensation Philosophy to drive a pay-for-performance culture and support employee attraction and retention
  • Foster strong customer relationships within the organization to stay aligned with business development, challenges, and opportunities for employee rewards and experience. Oversee clear communication between the Total Rewards team and local stakeholders on all key initiatives and projects
  • Lead, train, and guide the Total Rewards team, ensuring effective vendor management and monitoring the effectiveness of existing compensation policies and procedures. Recommend and implement cost-effective plan revisions consistent with compensation trends and business objectives
  • Manage the development and implementation of compensation tools in the region, streamlining annual processes such as salary reviews, benefits enrollment, and benchmarking. Collaborate with payroll and people operations teams to effectively administer Total Rewards programs
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition and People Business Partners to create compelling candidate communication around compensation packages and philosophy. Assess and develop recommendations for hard-to-hire or retain roles, aligning with business objectives and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
  • Work with Legal and stock administration to manage the Equity Program, ensuring adherence to tax, accounting, and legal principles. Support Finance in forecasting budgeting requirements and manage the preparation of materials for Compensation Committee meetings as needed. Anticipate pay issues related to organizational design or business strategy changes
What You’ll Bring
  • Experienced Total Rewards leader with ideally over 8 years of experience managing benefits and compensation teams. Proven ability to hire, lead, mentor, and develop a team of professionals at all levels
  • Leadership skills with the capacity to structure priorities and deliver in high-pressure, business-critical environments. Demonstrated ability to balance strategic thinking with tactical delivery for employee and stakeholder satisfaction
  • High degree of knowledge and expertise in compensation and benefits program development and management. Experience with the development of benefits tools and systems is desirable
  • Effective conflict and crisis management skills, handling situations with diplomacy and sensitivity. Excellent listening, organizational, and communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills. Fluent in English and German (written and verbal)
  • High degree of expertise in the field, with the ability to manage conflict and crisis situations effectively. Strong organisational and multitasking talents, ensuring employee and stakeholder satisfaction
  • Strong work ethic, commitment to quality, and proven follow-through skills. Proficient in multitasking and working in fast-paced environments with constantly changing priorities and demands
