About the role

As the Head of Communications (ANZ, you will lead the company's ANZ communications team and drive the internal and external reputation with key stakeholders.

You will work across Australia & New Zealand with a team of high-performing individuals to build the company's corporate reputation, communicate key initiatives being undertaken across ANZ, and engage employees through internal communication and engagement activities. You will demonstrate proficiency in leveraging various channels to execute communications objectives, including media, social media, and select digital platforms.

External Communications

  • Lead communications team, which oversees external, corporate, and internal communication and engagement.

  • Develop and oversee the implementation of a cohesive communications strategy that builds the reputation with external and internal stakeholders across Australia & New Zealand.

  • Leverage various channels to execute communications opportunities, including media, social media, and digital platforms.

  • Translate scientific information into compelling narratives for the external environment.

  • Identify opportunities to enhance corporate reputation by communicating company-wide business developments.

  • Support internal communication and engagement activities, including communications to employees and town hall events.

  • Ensure all activities adhere to internal standards and comply with the Medicines Australia Code of Conduct.

What should you have:

To succeed in this role, you should have a strong track record in leading a communications team and designing and implementing a cohesive communications strategy to advance the company's reputation and objectives. You will have a natural tact for storytelling and a proven ability to translate complex information into content that resonates with diverse internal and external audiences.

A key enabler of success in this role will be the ability to build a more robust network of relationships with external stakeholders and develop key relationships across the business to identify and execute communications initiatives.

  • Formal qualifications in public policy, communications, law, health economics, medical science, or a related discipline

  • Understanding of government and the Australian political process

  • Familiarity with the Australian media landscaper

  • Ability to work collaboratively and constructively as a member of cross-functional teams.

  • Excellent oral, written, presentation and interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail and a curiosity to learn.
