As a Senior Category Manager, you will be accountable for the success of your category and encouraged to independently lead and balance multiple subcategories of the business.

You will also be responsible for planning, coordinating and supervising a range of projects that address for both the UK and Global initiatives. This role involves leading high-impact projects and diverse workstreams as well as supporting the Hard Goods leadership team to successfully deliver our strategy.

What you will accomplish:

  • Drive category strategy to grow GMV, conversion rate, ASP/AOV, and Buyer & Seller CSAT. Leverage existing strategy work to build out a day-today go-to-market plan.

  • Build a business plan optimizing against pricing, promotions, and assortment goals, while improving discoverability and search-ability through merchandising and marketing

  • Recruit vital vendors/sellers to establish trust in the market and build out assortment strategy. Be responsible for performance and business planning for top sellers, buyers, and third-party partners, including new seller launch plans.

  • Lead vertical, horizontal, and strategy execution as it relates to the categories and our customers by working cross-functionally with product, marketing, deals, pricing, and seller teams within eBay.

  • Drive eBay onsite marketing and key event planning with cross functional teams, with a focus on important industry and retail moments. Clearly communicate objectives and requests in creative briefs

  • Deliver strategies, reporting, and results weekly to the Category GM, while delivering regular executive read-outs and presentation updates

What you will bring:

  • Validated experience with growing responsibility as a business owner in an online retail or marketplace environment.

  • Experienced at negotiating win-win outcomes with third parties in sophisticated negotiations.

  • Highly capable in overcoming ambiguity and incomplete data to drive category performance and results.

  • Execution-driven, growth-oriented, ownership mentality to drive performance against KPIs. A want to be responsible for the problem and solve for it.

  • Ability to lead with authority and effectively handle cross-functional coordination in a collaborative and team-driven environment.

  • Experience influencing and negotiating with both internal and external partners.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred, not required.
