Equipment Engineer
Defining Equipment (Design)
- Define total manufacturing set-up for taking into consideration technical details, flow of materials, integral production flow etc.
- Create & evaluate new design concepts not presently available for complex modules, complicated equipment, complex production lines.
- Collaborate with production in proposing equipment by offering alternatives that best meet user requirements, technical aspects, ergonomics and is in accordance with manufacturing plan.
- Facilitate design concept review and selection for complex modules, complicated equipment, production lines and complicated lines.
- Make detailed designs and complete documentation.
- Initiate continuous improvement in equipment.
Deliver/Supply Equipment
- Evaluate and select supply option (MOB) for CoC and satellites (local plant/local suppliers). Recommend, evaluate and influence decision making with consideration of total supply chain.
- Test and commission equipment (include performance figures).
- Train production, maintenance.
- Manage equipment project (budgets, time, quality). Focus on reducing costs, decreasing lead times and improving quality.
- Deliver equipment exceeding user expectation by formal Equipment Transfer meeting.
Coordinate Projects
- Define Total Manufacturing Set-up for projects (PCP/Satellite).
- Coordinate projects by following strictly to the Manufacturing Equipment Creation Procedure (MECP).
- Make preliminary budgets for Capex application and sell salient points/feasibility studies/justification to relevant parties.
- Make detail equipment plan (schedule) and discuss the plan with the End User.
- Follow-up and update activities ensuring that the schedule is strictly followed. Proactively find solutions to potential problems that may affect the schedule.
- Manage project across DAP and satellites.
- Represent Equipment group in external contacts. (e.g. Product, Process, other departments, satellites, external parties).
Support Manufacturing and New Projects
- Participate as a member in improvement activities (e.g. OG, Competence Clusters).
- Lead cross-functional improvement team.
- Organise ad-hoc teams to resolve issues or improve processes.
- Collaborate in reviewing and optimising product designs/manufacturing systems.
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Mechatronics/ Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent
- 5 years of Equipment Engineering experience at the Design / NPI phase
- Preferably Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certified
- Open for regular travel to the Batam factory (weekly basis)
