What you’ll do

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Help create end-to-end prototypes at various levels of fidelity and test them with external facing users
• Support user research efforts with recruiting participants, helping with research plans, analysis and synthesis, maintenance of research documentation, incorporating research findings into design prototypes
• Advocate for the user when working closely with product managers and engineers to understand the business and technical constraints
• Work in a modern collaborative design stack with other UX designers and stakeholders across time-zones in North America, Asia and Europe
• Assist in planning and facilitation of client facing design workshops and co-innovation sessions
• Collaborate closely with engineers to create designs that get coded to spec and released to production

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

• Ability to articulate rationale of design and research decision making in a clear and logical manner whether via conversations or presentations
• Clearly articulate design interaction details to engineers for understanding of the mockups and flows
• Ability to collaborate and communicate with customers and internal teams
• Demonstrate humility and a low ego

What you bring

Must be able to work 3 days in our Newport Beach, CA office as we are a hybrid team.

• 1-3 years of real-world user experience design, ideally with responsive web design and frameworks
• A strong portfolio that showcases your UX work, explaining your role on the projects, with examples of functional designs that you have created from start to finish
• Willingness to work with our engineering team in Asia which may require early evening meetings to collaborate with them
• Understanding of which research method to use at different stages of the product development cycle
• Experience with modern design tools such as Figma and/or Sketch
• Bonus: Planned or facilitated design thinking workshops
• Bonus: Experience working at the intersection of UX and machine learning
