Job Description:
As a Government Affairs Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to engage with government officials, regulatory agencies, and policy makers at all levels, working across multiple industries and markets such as Energy & electronics, Transportation & Mobility, Infrastructure, and more.
Primary Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain relationships with government officials, legislators, regulatory agencies to advocate for policies that align with the company's interests.
Collaborate with industry associations, coalitions, and other stakeholders to amplify advocacy efforts and achieve common goals.
Represent the company in committees, at meetings, and industry events to build relationships and advance policy priorities.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to develop advocacy campaigns and strategies to shape public policy, foster Public-Private Partnerships, and create projects of public value.
Prepare written materials, including policy briefs, policy papers, responses, comments, and other research to support advocacy efforts.
Track and report on government affairs activities, including legislative and regulatory activities. Monitor legislative and regulatory developments that may impact the company and provide analysis and recommendations to internal stakeholders.
Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging issues related to Government Affairs and trade-related issues across SEA Region/ASEAN.
Actively participate in ongoing initiatives and discussions on public policy issues such as Trade, Safety, Transportation & Mobility, Future of Work, Supply Chain Resiliency, Sustainability/ESG, and more.
Qualifications:
Relevant master’s degree or bachelor’s degree, e.g. in Public Policy, Political Science International Relations, Economics, Law, etc.
7-10 years of relevant working experience in Government Affairs/Government Relations, e.g. from a Corporate Government Affairs/ Government Relations/External Affairs role, Embassies, Associations, Chambers of Commerce, etc.
Strong understanding of the legislative and regulatory processes in Singapore and SEA Region.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
Proven ability to develop and execute advocacy strategies that achieve measurable results.
Good command of English and preferably one other SEA Region language (oral/written).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (esp. Excel and Power Point).
