As the Software Team Lead of the Redis AI API team, you will have a pivotal role in shaping the future of Redis by integrating AI capabilities into our cloud services. You’ll lead a talented team of engineers, guiding them through the entire development process—from initial research and design to implementation and deployment in production.

What you’ll do:

• Lead and Mentor the Team . Provide technical leadership and mentorship to your team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
• Drive Technical Excellence. Oversee the design and development of AI-driven features, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Hands-On Contribution . Participate in coding, code reviews, and architectural decisions to stay connected with the team’s technical challenges.
• Collaborate Across Departments. Work closely with Product, Support, DevOps, and other engineering teams to deliver the fastest NoSQL databases in the world.
• Recruit and Develop Talent. Lead the hiring process to grow your team with top talent, and support their professional development.

What will you need to have?

• 6+ years of experience in developing backend applications, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and guide a technical team.
• Experience in hiring and building strong engineering teams.
• Experience in setting and tracking team goals and KPIs. Ability to measure team performance and drive continuous improvement.
• Experience building, testing, deploying, and monitoring services in production.
• Experience with databases
• Experience with CI/CD and deployment tooling (e.g.: Github actions, Argo CD, Kubernetes, Terraform, etc)
• Proficiency in delivering high-quality software at scale using Java, Kotlin, Python, Golang, or similar languages.

Extra great if you have:

• Understanding of AI/ML concepts, including experience with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar.
• Active in the AI open-source community
• Experience with Redis
• Experience architecting cloud-native applications
