When you join us, you’ll support a variety of transportation projects including multi-modal corridor planning studies, feasibility studies, service planning studies, long-range plans and other plans/programs. You will be part of a multi-disciplined, highly skilled, and diverse team of planners, engineers, designers, scientists and environmental specialists leading projects locally and nationally. This is an opportunity for motivated people to influence and provide leadership as part of the growing Jacobs’ transportation and planning practice.
In this role you will:
- Manage and coordinate development and delivery of transportation technology programs (e.g. Clipper START and Express Lanes START discount fare and toll programs), working directly with clients, vendors and Jacobs colleagues to:
- Coordinate with clients on project delivery goals and objectives.
- Provide support for day-to-day program operations (e.g., communicate with vendors and stakeholders, identify and track issues).
- Support organizational change, work directly with clients to transition program operations between functional groups.
- Develop staffing plans, strategic plans and recommendations.
- Work in a multi-stakeholder environment, where participants may have competing needs.
- Work independently, on-site with client staff.
- Conduct independent research and draft state-of-the-industry analyses, technology recommendations, and other technical reports.
- Manage the delivery of and conduct planning and feasibility studies, stakeholder engagement plans, and prepare planning deliverables for:
- Multi-modal transportation systems
- Transit networks, facilities, and corridors
- Active transportation networks, trails and paths
- Sustainable transportation/traffic development
- Emerging mobility and innovative technology
- Prepare needs analysis, alternatives development and evaluation, and short- and long-range strategies supporting agency staff to deliver projects and programs
- Engage with clients, subconsultants, and stakeholders
- Support professional development of junior staff
- Support business development pursuits and help build client relationships
- Help build the transportation planning team
- Bachelors or master’s degree in planning, policy, engineering or related field.
- At least 15 years of experience in technical project delivery, transportation and planning, project management, analysis, and/or studies.
- Demonstrated analytical, problem solving, communication and organizational skills.
- Experience in project management and/or task management for delivery of technical reports, impact studies, alternatives analysis, feasibility studies, specifications and/or estimates.
- Experience preparing technical reports, impact studies, alternatives analysis, feasibility studies, specifications and/or estimates to state and local standards.
- Experience with transit, planning, land use, complete streets, ITS and/or multimodal corridor projects.
- Ability to actively participate in diverse teams and contribute to a secure and empowering work environment built on equity and inclusion.
- Ability to effectively manage time to deliver tasks accurately and on schedule.
Ideally, you’ll also have:
- Experience in project management
- Experience in developing materials for and presenting to senior/management-level staff, and/or Boards and other decision making bodies
- Experience facilitating discussions and presenting complex information
- Experience with industry standards and systems for public sector clients
- Basic to advanced knowledge of Salesforce, electronic fare payment and/or tolling systems, mapping applications and Microsoft office.
