Senior Product Quality Engineer
As a Senior Product Quality Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Supporting solutions of optical films, adhesives, materials, and other novel combinations in Display Materials and Systems Division
- Executing New Product Introduction (NPI) projects through robust product design including product testing, data analysis and reporting
- Leading and supporting Change Managed (CMP) projects through appropriate risk analysis (FMEA) and addressing key risks
- Responding to customers as needed (product development and customer specifications, complaints and CAPA, key accountmanagement includingcustomer agreements, data analysis, etc.)
- Leading continual quality improvement projects to improve quality and reduce Defective Parts per Million (DPPM)
- Leading quality tool usage within project teams
- Managing customer complaints in 3M Customer Issue Resolution (CIR) system within product responsibility area
- Developing test methods: documentation, training, Measurement System Analysis (MSA), round robins
- Developing visual reference standards, visual test methods, and align visual detection systems
- Execute product qualification planning, testing, and analysis
- Leading the development of Quality Functional Deployment (QFD), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), Control Plans
- Documenting and improving the Quality Management System
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics discipline from an accredited institution
- Three (3) years of experience working or interning in a Quality Engineering, Product Engineering, Product development and/or Manufacturing environment in a private, public, government or military environment
- Three (3) years of experience in the use of statistical tools in a private, public, government or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry,Mathematics/Statisticsor related discipline from an accredited institution
- Minimum 5 years of Quality Engineering and/or Product Engineering
- Experience in Manufacturing
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and/or projects
- Lean Six Sigma training with proven ability to understand and apply Lean Six Sigma and other quality tools to product, systems and process problems
- Working knowledge of International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001 standards
- Test method development experience
- Excellent communication skills (oral, written and presentation)
- Established decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated with proven ability to apply innovative solutions to problems
Work location:
- Hybrid Eligible (Job Duties allow for some remote work but require travel to 3M Center Maplewood, MN at least 2 days per week)
